Yeah I've got a bit of cramp now and then. I just take that as a sign I've been on too long and go and get a coffee or whatever. It is quite a bit bigger then the DS4 though and playstation controllers in general.

Much prefer the DualSense to the DualShock4 - when I pick up a PS4 controller now it feels like a toy

I’ve been lucky enough to be selected in the Curry’s ballot for a PS5 however now it’s been sent through I’m not sure I actually want one yet  :-\

I have until Wednesday to decide but I think my hesitation is very telling currently

Not sure if I’m honest, maybe the price, I was expecting to be really excited at the prospect but I’m not. Also because there isn’t a must have game for me on it yet, I’m thinking maybe just waiting and using the £500 towards a holiday later in the year or something

Or maybe you can get it and sell it for profit if you really don't want it.

It's clear bundles of PS5 are not coming in as yet and the price won't be coming down anytime soon.

Not my style,

What I might do is offer the promo code on here on Wednesday for free if I’ve decided against it. Fortunately they’ve given me 48 hours to decide

Yeah I might do that. I’m strangely nostalgic (or a hoarder) and have all my old consoles right back to my N64 but you’re right, I could still get a decent amount for my PS4

My thoughts are mate that P5's are not going to be easy to get until at least later in the year and the price isnt going to reduce until 2022/23 due to demand. So I would get one if you can and maybe sell the PS4 while that is still worth a decent amount because next year it won't be.

That's my thoughts but its up to you mate.

If this is the case it makes even sense to get one at retail price if possible when you can.

I keep all my old consoles as well but there’s little point in this instance, all the games can be played on the PS5.

I absolutely love mine, fantastic machine and the haptic feedback is great.

Game apparently have PS5 bundles from 9am. If you want one, get as many devices open at once, that's how I managed to get one on launch.

I managed to get one this way, Digital Edish on the way!

Fucking crap queue system though. Was in it yesterday (two days in a row they've had stock around 7am) and my turn ended as they sold out.

So queue in Game = NOT a reservation of a console.

Lame

Still. I'm sorted. Perservere - Smyths and Argos have had stock this week so I had open their PS5 pages to just refresh, already logged in - this is how I got a 3080, and now how I got a PS5

Yes, depressing it is just a case of "beat the bots and scalpers by F5ing all day"

I’ve been saying I’m going to install and play this for weeks. Defo doing it tonight, what a game.

For those still trying for a PS5, follow Jelly Deals on Twitter as they post when and where they’re available. Also if you’re lucky enough to be in front of a computer most of the day, Stockinformer is very good as well. I’ve managed to grab a PS5 (two actually as I sold one to a friend) and a Series X using these. Keep persevering you’ll get one eventually!

When the PS5 was announced they had a PS Plus Collection of the best PS4 games on the PS5.

I've subscribed to Plus again so is this still available when I get my PS5? (Not TOO bothered but would be nice)

It's gonna be a backwards compatability machine for a while!  ;D

Yeah they're all still there. They've not added to it since launch as far as I know but there's a decent selection of games.

They've also been giving away an extra game on top of what they give PS4 users each month as part of PS Plus, this month's is Wreckfest.

I have until Wednesday to decide but I think my hesitation is very telling currently

As someone who has a ps5, you will notice a massive difference between PS4 & PS5 and it’ll make you think why didn’t I do this sooner… obviously minus the stock/scalpers issue.

Would really recommend if you’re able to afford it for sure. Aye there are a lack of games for PS5 at the moment but present PS4 games on it are immense.

My entire PS4 library is moving over and all my old PS4 era Plus games are there

Valhalla, I will give another shot
Wipeout tho
PES 2021 (need to put the kits on again though)

Yeah even as a backwards compatibility machine it is making me happy.

Ratchet and Clank looks incredible

And bloody Horizon: Zero Dawn is free today in their Days of Play thing. NOT BAD

Is this specific games that have received updates, or all games?

I've got Pro Evo and F1 which I'm not too bothered about either way, as PS5 editions will be on the way later this year.

Beyond that I've got the third Tomb Raider, Last of Us II, and Red Dead 2, waiting to be played.  Gran Turismo always on the go too.

Check this list for specifically updated games:
https://www.pushsquare.com/guides/ps4-to-ps5-all-games-with-confirmed-free-upgrades

The actual framerate is capped by the developer, not Sony, so 60fps unfortunately isn't guaranteed on PS4 games (Rockstar are fucking lazy for this)

Overall it's faster. PS4 games load quicker. Not sure of any visual differences but between the amazing controller (the thumbsticks are miles better than the DS4 ones) and speed it's worth installing PS4 games. You won't feel like they're "the old generation", yet, because they hold up so well.

I still want a PS5 game to blow my socks off, but I don't own any yet (Astros Playroom wowed me with the controller!)

So early in a lifespan though I look at my console and think GTA6 and all the other games coming down the tubes, this console is going to be amazing

Playing Returnal earlier and managed to beat two bosses. Hard work like. It's more forgiving than a soulsborne in terms of combat but once you die it's ruthless, no going back to where you died to get your souls or the equivalent, lose all your weapons, all your equipment (bar a few), no checkpoint, no save point.

But in saying that you can get back to where you want to be relatively quick and the further you go you get unique permanent equipment to unlock things you couldn't access in the earlier stages.

Really good game just a bit daunting when you have to start over  :D

Just to echo what's already been said, but my PS5 has been a great purchase, I haven't bought any PS5 games yet but has really brought new life to my PS4 library.

It's great to be able to play them without the console sounding like it's about to take off is the main thing, and love the controller, it's such a big upgrade on the DS4.

Finding myself going back chasing trophies, and the odd platinum, I'm having the most fun I've had playing video games in about 15 years.
