TV Theme Tunes
« on: March 30, 2005, 07:22:15 pm »
Just been having a look around TV Cream, and thought it was worth asking RAWKites the question: What's your favourite ever TV theme?

On balance (and there's a lot of good ones), I'd have to say this one's mine:

STOP THE PIGEON

Quote
Muttley you snickering floppy eared hound,
When courage is needed, you're never around!
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest,
Should be there for bungling at which you are best!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!

You silly, stop sneaking it's not worth the chance,
For you'll be returned by the seat of your pants!
And Clunk, you invent me a Thingamybob,
That catches that pigeon or I lose my job!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!

Neighbours. 'Nuff said.
Ah, but which one? The orignal or one of the 2 (or is it 3) updates?

For me, the oldies are always the best:

Sports themes are a whole new category: BBC Snooker, Formula 1, Darts, Cricket, Wimbledon, Grandstand and, of course, Match of the Day. Every one a classic.

The theme from House is pretty great too. But then it is "Teardrop" by Massive Attack. Could that show get any cooler?

The Fall Guy

Well, I'm not the kind to kiss and tell,
But I've been seen with Farrah.
I'm never seen with anything less than a nine, so fine.

I've been on fire with Sally Field,
Gone fast with a girl named Bo,
But somehow they just don't end up as mine.

It's a death defyin' life I lead,
I take my chances.
I die for a livin' in the movies and TV.
But the hardest thing I ever do
Is watch my leadin' ladies
Kiss some other guy while I'm bandagin' my knee.

I might fall from a tall building,
I might roll a brand new car.
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman that made Redford such a star.

I never spend much time in school
But I taught ladies plenty.
It's true I hire my body out for pay, Hey Hey.

I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs,
Blown up for Raquel Welch.
But when I end up in the hay it's only hay, Hey Hey.

I might jump an open drawbridge,
Or Tarzan from a vine.
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman that makes Eastwood look so fine.
