Wilder has 30 days to activate a rematch clause

Terms already set, winner gets 60% loser gets 40%

By the looks of him back stage, I don’t think he will fight again this year

Some right haters in here that just don't want to give Fury any credit. Fury was a man of his words. He took the fight to Wilder, bullied him and smashed him up.

At least not for another 6/7 months. That will take a lot of recovering, physically and mentally. Didn't land a thing in 7 rounds

Fury was great, but you can't be calling a guy who is 2-0-1 in title fights one of the greatest of all time. Not yet. Let's see if he handles this reign better than the last one.

You would hope so but that Saudi £ sterling would be mad

If that was on in Wembley, my goodness the ppv record would be smashed to smithereens. I reckon 2.5/3m in UK at £30 a pop

Yeah that’s my thinking mate, March next week, don’t see him fighting again in 2020

This broke the heavyweight all time gate record set by Lennox Lewis

Vegas are going to want Fury / AJ

Major, major props to Fury. My only hope is that fury doesn't go off the rails again. I pray he has it in him to find the motivation to reach another high.

Not sure who called him that. But one things for sure, he is the best heavyweight in the world. There is no doubt about that imo.

Agreed. AJ would be a different proposition to Wilder in that he is actually technically sound but you have to back fury to befuddle him if they met

Has to be either at Wembley or the new Vegas Stadium.

Not sure where Wilder goes from here, take the trilogy or move on to fight someone like Whyte or Ruiz? Fury will probably just wait it out for AJ, once he decides to fight again that is

AJ would be a tougher fight for Fury as AJ can at least box. Would say Fury starts as favourite.

Congrats to Fury he did exactly what he said he was going to do. I’ve gone full circle on Fury, couldn’t stand him at first but now like him as a fighter. Hope he stays in shape and can keep his focus if he doesn’t get AJ or a rematch with wilder next.

I only follow Boxing when a fight interest me, so forgive my naivety regarding politics and money in the sport, but surely the WBC, IBF, WBO et al can see that the unification match has to happen?

Just from a promotion and money standpoint, they'd all make a fortune from the fight and the hype could help bring in lapsed/fairweather fans/new fans to the sport again. Create a dream card using the undercard and make the night a huge celebration of boxing and watch the cash fucking roll in.

In this case, I do think you will see a unification

There will be several people wanting pieces of the pie though from promoters to TV networks then we have Wembley versus Vegas versus Saudi’s

It was perhaps slightly unfortunate for Wilder that his eardrum was bust and he never looked right after that third round punch that dropped him but Fury completely dominated him. There cannot be any doubts now that Fury is the best heavyweight in the world right now. There has to be a reunification fight and Fury is easily the much bigger draw than AJ now, so I do hope it happens soon. On this showing, AJ would get similarly outclassed by Fury.

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I think that right was the one that burst his eardrum

I agree. It was a good strong right but not quite a haymaker. But the effect of it was almost instantaneous, which leads me to believe that it was definitely the right that busted Wilder's eardrum. Wilder looked confused and off-balance for the remaining rounds.

Just watching the press conference, and Wilders head coach Jay Deas was saying he didn’t want the towel throwing in but the other coach Mark Breland did it anyway so they’re not happy in the Wilder camp

No mention of a burst eardrum when they asked about injuries, they said he has a cut on the inside of his ear that needs stitches

They’ll take the rematch clause

That’s why I asked was it signed because only then money to Pulev becomes an issue? It won’t be Pulev they’ll have to appease, it’ll be the IBF themselves and given Hearn is shouting about Fury / AJ already, maybe they know the IBF will approve the unification

If ever there was a unification bout to approve over a mandatory, you’d think it would be a heavyweight championship for ALL of the belts

‘Importantly, the IBF must approve all unification bouts, and if approved, take priority over mandatory challengers’

Superb win for Fury, but not sure on all this talk of him undoubtedly being the beat HW in the world. Until he fights AJ I think there’s still a bit of doubt personally. My money would be on Fury I think, but it’s a 50:50 fight at the bookies I reckon.

No boxer wants the towel thrown in. They did it to protect him. He would have just been battered until he couldn’t get up.

Holy fuck.  I was one of the few predicting the Fury KO but didn't see that coming.

Wilder absolutely exposed.  Always thought there was a wiff of hypejob about him and the American promoters kept him protected for a reason.  Saw a chance to get Fury on his CV before he got back in shape and it back fired, and they had no choice but to go for the rematch.  Back to fighting at the Jason Gavern and Malik Scott level.

Sounds like a great bet, who is that with ?

First rule of the boxing thread; never follow my betting tips ;D  Hope no one answered this!  (SkyBet for reference)

Hearn on twitter says AJ Vs fury has to happen this year

Hearn can say what he wants.

1st of all I think Wilder will take the 3 fight even though he got battered.
2nd AJ is now on the C side and it will have to be 70-30 or 60-40 to Fury in terms of money.
