I don't really get the logic here. Manager songs are no different to player songs, they're used to motivate everyone to perform not to celebrate a victory or anything. Maybe it's a cultural difference between here and Germany or something.

Anyway it's not a bad idea to sing about the players instead, some of whom really deserve their own chant by now.

I think it was more the fact we didn't sing it until we thought we had won.. Type of thing. My seats are right infront of Klopp and it was pretty funny watching his reaction. The Klopp somg started and he started to shush the fans almost jokingly & was like saying no, not until the game is over & within seconds they had that chance and he turned to the Kop & was almost saying 'see that is what happens' type of thing

Obviously doesn't motivate him. I think he has had enough scares when we have gone ahead and teams have got back at us. Its probably an indication from Jurgen of how he doesn't trust the team to manage games at the moment when we are ahead.
Entertaining though!

Not sure I buy into this. How does one motivate a manager and what reasonable effect can it have? It's not like the manager needs to have his song sung to make an inspired substitution or perhaps give one of the players a dressing down for not tracking back properly. I think singing the manager's name is cool as it shows an appreciation for the man behind the scenes, but I can totally see Klopp's point when he says that the time for appreciation is when the game is won and any singing for motivation should be directed at the players.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Was at the match and it is clear lots of fans don't know the words for the Klopp song. Can someone please put them down so we can all learn them.?
I hope he gets used to hearing it as it means we are having a good season. Didn't start to be sung until we were 3-1 up.

Not just the words. They don't know how to sing it at all to the point it doesn't sound like an Opus song. Which is why it should be binned.

Get what Klopp is on about. He only wants adulation - if it's there to be given- when the match is won.

This one is to the tune of wet wet wet number 1 "love is all around".

I feel it my fingers
I feel it in my toes
When Jurgen is around us.
The noise of the kop it grows.

It's written in the wind
It's every red I know
So if you really love Jurgen
Stand up and let it show.

chorus.

You know I love you I always will
You're Jurgen Klopp its the way that I feel.
There's no beginning there'll be no end
In Jurgen we trust...rely and depend.

It would've been better if he'd just said don't sing about me until you find a better song.

Problem with the current one is nobody really knows the words apart from the chorus. And that is sung completely out of tempo which makes it sound crap.

Think the current one is great for him but how nobody knows the proper tune to "Life is Life" is beyond me.

Alternatively a version of Three Little Birds re-worded for Jurgen would be deadly I think!

Reckon if it was played every game during the pre-match playlist fans might cop on. I like the song and it fits. The big Germans over the pond would probably nail it but our fans always end up racing to finish chants. Proper grates me that, dunno why we do it either.

The more I think about this the more annoying it is lol. If Life is Life was sang at the proper pace it would actually be immense. George playing it before the games/at half time would definitely get the pacing of the song in everyone's heads, great suggestion.

So will this be getting put in the bin? :lmao

I have to say i don't understand the logic of comparing it to celebrating a penalty before you scored.

I suppose they don't sing the manager's name over in Germany and it's a bit out of the ordinary for him.

It's just his thoughts on the fans celebrating too early, the Klopp song gets wheeled out, fans are in full party "we got this" mode, the players start to move into showboat mode. Jurgen simply wants to fans cheering on the team until the game is absolutely wrapped up, pushing them on, cheering every move, tackle, block, save.

The chant would be sung out at 0-0 too, you know. Nothing about celebrating too early.

It's a song about our manager

You don't say... a song with the words being "Jurgen Klopp" is actually a song about our manager?  ;)
His point is that he doesn't want it sung too early when we are leading, as he thinks it is a celebration of the game being in the bag, hence his analogy to celebrating a penalty before it is scored. Don't think any attention will be paid though, and he'll just have to endure the love.

Sturridge needs a song!!!  Sadio seems like he could deserve one soon.

Sturridge has a simple but decent one - sang at Burton. Same as the old Paddy Berger one - Daniel Sturridge na na na na naaa

It's half decent when sung by just a few . It becomes terrible because it's chanted as opposed to sung and it is far too fast as usual. We can do much better . Having said that I'm a shit singer and terrible with lyrics
