Anyone playing this as Liverpool, who, if anyone have you bought so far?

I've just started a save, generally happy with the squad, but always looking to add any young decent players early in game.

I've only signed Rafinha and this is what I'm running. I mentioned earlier in the thread that it's actually too easy at the moment and is killing the enjoyment. Won every single game up until November.

I'm barely getting any goals from Salah. We're in Feb and I don't think he's got 10 in the league yet.

Trent on the other hand, I've put him on corners, FKs and change pens to him if we are 2 or more up and he's on 9 goals and 20odd assists in the league ;D

Saw on their forums inside forwards are getting looked at

Thought as much. Mo plays more like he does IRL as a Trequartista in the right winger position

Thanks for all the replies.

Started as Liverpool, sitting 4th after 5 games. 4 wins and a loss at Newcastle. Asked the board to sign Barella just before the end of the window. they got him for £66m and hes scored 4 and assisted 2 in 3 games.

You appear to hve mistaken 'the funny photo thread' for the 'pointless, pre-pubescent nonsensical not even porn but "look, look, it's a girl" thread'

Origi is ridiculous on this. Scored about 25 goals first season as a squad option so was going to renew his contract, wouldn't and so off to Real for £62m.

I was reading they have overbalanced the Strikers. They were hard to get going on previous versions and now people are seeing 60 goal seasons and the like.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Depends. Similar to the last two. Think the match engine is the best in years.

Stuff like the data hub is brand new and really good.

It's not largely different to FM21 though!

On PC or on console? Mine loads absolutely fine on both. Are you launching it through the Gamepass PC app?

Works for me fine on PC and it worked when I briefly triedit on Xbox before Christmas.

I'm currently in my 10th season playing as Cove Rangers, got them up to the Premiership and qualified for the Champiions League for 2 years running now. Got absolutely pumped in the group stages though.  ;D

I only have a 5000 seat stadium though and the board refuse to build a new one.

Have you tried de- and re-installing it? Does the game close or just stay on a black screen? It works fine for me on PC, but it is showing some weird behaviour, because when I start it up and there are all the loading screens a new window pops up asking me to sign in to my Gamepass (or whatever it's called) account. Only after I do that the game starts. I've had this with other games as well, but normally it's just when you actually play them for the first time.

Seems like an account problem if you're getting that far. Is it ok for other games?

Quicker than reinstalling might be just deleting the cache cause it will recreate it, if it's the game itself

Started a new game, create a club, replaced Curzon Ashton in the Conference North and turned them into Wakefield City, who play at the mighty Thornes Park stadium. Turned the first transfer window off to make it more difficult.

Lost the first 5 games on the spin, went 5 at the back (wing backs) and steadily climbed up the table. Think playoffs may just be out of reach but think I'll settle into this one for the long haul.

The FM gods were not smiling on me. Booted it up after that post yesterday, went 12 games without a win. Lucky I had a good October to December cos I didn't win a game in Jan Feb or March and slid from playoffs to 15th.

;D got through the season by the skin of my teeth, finished 15th out of 22.

I'm a bit confused, the league went from 1 relegation spot in a division of 22, to 4 relegation spots in a division of 24 this year!

This time round we are 8th after 10 games, having won 4, drawn 4 and lost 2. Got a few youngsters in and hooked us up with Sheff Weds as a feeder team so two of their lads.

Annoyingly, half of our bank balance (20 of 40k) just got wiped by a bloody work permit application for a Cameroonian U21 goalkeeper. He didn't get the pissing permit and we spent half our money on trying. And we've drawn a Conference team away in the 4th qualifier of the FA Cup so probably won't get to boost the coffers either.

(bradders, love the HMHB quote)

edit - get in, beat Solihul Moors away, a league above, to get to the FA Cup. Up the Shakies!

Really gotten into this the last few weeks after dipping in and out since it was released. Always start a 1st proper career at Liverpool, in Feb of the 1st season and battling for 1st with City. A point or two in it so it'll be tight come the end of the season. Out of the League Cup on pens to Arsenal and still in the FA Cup (got Man UFC (haha stupid pricks) in the 5th round). Just battered Juve at Anfield 3-0 in the 1st leg of the Ro16 in the CL as well

Sold Origi to Juve for £31m, Keita to Real Madrid for £50m and Milner to Arsenal for just over a £1m to free up some funds and some wages. Agreed deals with Julian Alverez and Faustino Vera to join in the summer for under £20m combined. Madrid pipped me to Mbappe on a free which was annoying and Porto want silly money for Diaz so I'll hang fire until the summer and try again

Anyone downloaded the Level 10 database?  Got Cammell Laird up a division before being offered the Gosport Borough job, got them promoted and now waiting to see what happens next.  Got them to just outside the play-offs in the VNS.

Oh, also trapped Greenwood in some North Korean team and changed his nationality so he's a bit more... Pyongyangean...

Reminds me, certain Icelandic midfielders and Scottish Raith Rovers players should probably be heading to the Korean Peninsula soon too (if they haven't retired).

I've never had the FMRTE before so having a little fun with it, I've stuck a billion into the accounts of Chemie Leipzig and Red Star FC because a) I like their politics, and b) I'm never really going to play in the German/French leagues.

In Germany there's Eintracht Fuhlsbüttel who are playing somewhere in the local Hamburg league and they play all their games at home. Why? They're a team of prison inmates. Sadly, you probably can't play them in FM unless there's some database that includes the low low German leagues... ;)

Twice a season after the transfer window shuts I used the editor to move Man United's players to the outer reaches of the world, and edit their bank balance to - 150000000. Greenwood in my game plays for Venezuela's Asociación Civil LALA Fútbol Club

I have edited Ole and Neville to be as poor a manager as I imagine them to be and keep putting one of them in charge and when he gets sacked I put the other one in charge yet again. You can edit their formations as well so they're playing weird formations or in Neville's case stick doggedly to 4-4-2 only I removed any players who can actually play as wide midfielders

They're currently in the Championship. They seem to keep getting money and players, but I'm not going to stop til they are out of the game. I'm running down to League 2, though I should have loaded as far down the leagues as possible

Old Cistern's average attendance is dropping!

In my 5th season with Wakefield City. First season 15th in the conf North, second season playoffs but lost the semi, third season won the play offs.

First season in the national conference and we just missed out on playoffs. Over the summer I saw that two 50% of profit clauses I put in the contracts of two youth players i took on for the first team then sold were available to be cashed in. Brought the bank from 300k to 2.5m!!

This season is going well, we are deffos gonna get a play off spot, managed to get to the 3rd round of the fa Cup and lucked out with an away draw at stamford Bridge (adding another 900k to the bank).

Finally the board has agreed we can go professional at the end of the season (5 years of semi pro) and I'm unsure whether to spunk my wad now and push for league two or save it for the increased running costs.

Major problems being this low down is the lack of sponsorship and attendance. We've got 10% of what Stockport get in relation to crowds and our sponsorship income is 11k compared to their 2.8m per annum. Its going to be such a damn slog to turn these lads into a real team

I also wonder if something is built into the game to recognise that Wakefield isn't a footballing city, which is keeping the crowds so poor.

Hey ho, its fun.

Your club will have a numerical reputation and the way the locations work is they have a value that raises when the club does better (this also plays into youth intake)

At that level you're still probably not getting great boosts but it will improve. Basically... Glory brings supporters  ;D

Attendances will rise. Also interesting is name players can lead to increased sponsorship and attendance

In a nutshell it's a gradual and longterm process. There's nothing stopping your club being big except how you do on the pitch. But the big boosts to rep don't come until you're fairly longterm, established, and you're ideally winning silverware

If you get money in the kitty and the board like you, try asking to upgrade facilities. I basically hammer the infrastructure the first few seasons.

Oh and upgrade your staff regularly...

I'm 15 seasons in with Cove Rangers and won the SPL 3 out of last 4 years.

Issue is they built a new stadium in 2018 so it is only 3 years old at the start of the game. I have tried every year to request a new stadium but apparently it is near impossible to get the board to build one until the existing stadium is 25 years old so I am stuck in a 5000 seaters capacity (they did expand it to max early on from 2000) and having to play CL games at Pittodrie (Aberdeen's stadium).

To your point though, even after 15 seasons, winning the SPL and playing in the CL, season ticket sales still only grow by about 100-200 a season. Up to 3000 season tickets sales now.  ;D

I've finished a couple of seasons now after noticing it was on Game Pass. I've loved this series over the years, going back to Championship Manager 3.

Playing as Liverpool, Man Utd were my main title rivals (wtf?), with City and Chelsea struggling all season. Everton are unusually strong, but from what I remember on all of the older games, that was common as the creators were Everton fans!   :no

I only signed Gnabry in my first go, as a backup attacker, as the squad was pretty strong.

I won the league, with Salah scoring millions of goals. Utd finished 2nd, and then lo and behold, I won the Champions League, beating Utd in the final.  :)

I used a 4-3-3 Gengenpress which knackers a lot of players in training, unfortunately, but the board and fans love the entertaining football, with a lot of dominant victories. I used the Positive instruction for the majority unless it was a top 6 side, or a tough European match, or a tough away fixture, where it was Balanced. I only used Attacking for bottom clubs when I was at home.

In my second season, I signed Damion Rice for the aging midfield, Charlie Cresswell for defense, and Karim Adeyemi for Attack. The last two were supposed to be future prospects, but Adeyemi was that good, he pushed Firminho out of my starting 11.

However, two lengthy injuries to my goal machine Salah meant that we only finished 2nd in the league, 6 points behind City. However, Klopp had taken over them after giving  Pep the elbow, so it was funny losing to them. Made it to the Champions League final again, losing to City this time.

I also made it to the FA Cup final this time, only to lose to Arsenal. They're like my bogy side, I can't seem to beat them?

To sing soft melodic songs to them while they trained?

Playing as Liverpool, Man Utd were my main title rivals (wtf?), with City and Chelsea struggling all season. Everton are unusually strong, but from what I remember on all of the older games, that was common as the creators were Everton fans!   :no

I also made it to the FA Cup final this time, only to lose to Arsenal. They're like my bogy side, I can't seem to beat them?

Some tactics and styles are a little broken in the game. Ole plays Vertical Tika-Taka and Arteta is a regular Tika-Taka, but their style trumps their actual ability. Both overachieve massively, I had a long 9 year save as Liverpool and Arsenal were always up there against me with world class players.

You then great get managers known for being good defensively who struggle lots in the AI world.
