Hated those spider demons in Oblivion because they paralyzed you all the time but apart from that not arsed.

I loved the Dark Brotherhood and it is good to see it back. My fave part of Oblivion.

"Horses: they want horses in the game, but are not sure if players will be able to ride them. Also, no word yet on horse armor."

Eh, what?

If you can't ride horses then I'm straight up not playing this. My main gripe with Fallout 3 was that it was near impossible to get around at lower levels because you had to walk everywhere and enemies just picked you off. I hated it. The genius thing about Oblivion was that you could evade enemies you weren't equipped to handle if you had your horse.

They better be rideable.

To be honest, I'd rather have back some of the things that were taken out of Oblivion from Morrowind.

The horse riding was horrible in Oblivion anyway, the textures couldn't keep up and the horse would die if you walked it off anything higher than a pavement. If they nail it Red Dead style, then it'll be great - otherwise leave it out.

It would be immensly cool if there was a whole specialization related to horses (mounted archery, mounted swordsman or whatever) and if you could knock enemies down with armoured horses.

Agreed.
Hopefully they use the same engine that was used in Red Dead Redemption.
Thought it worked quite well in that and game developers tend to share their work.

So you really spent the rest of the time on foot? I don't want horses cos they light up my life. But they are a much better means of transport than on foot.

I just used fast travel to the nearest town, then walked from there pretty much. Meant a few mammoth treks into the mountains, but was usually not too bad.

Absolutely cannot wait for this.  Just started a new character on Oblivion in anticipation, going to take my time and go through everything I possibly can.

Have to agree on the Horse thing, if they nail it like Red Dead I'm all for it, otherwise, meh.  Not too interested in riding horses without being able to fire arrows or fling magic.

Been playing Fallout a lot and don't really need transportation on that, love exploring on foot for new locations so if they jam pack the Skyrim with locations and treasure troves I wouldn't care if they didn't include horses.  But they likely will do and I'd imagine controls being, probably not as good as RDR but better than the disaster that was horse control in TES4.

Anybody here construct mods for Oblivion or Fallout 3 at all?  I'm trying to get a 3 person group together for a decent size project I want to work on for Skyrim.  I'm still writing the storyline and objectives and I've got the mapping covered myself, but I need one person for underground and/or stone structure world textures and I need a person for modeling/skinning, nothing really intense just character and weapon modeling for about 3 unique NPC's and 5 unique weapons.  This is a Middle Earth/J.R.R. Tolkien inspired project, only in map layout though.  Don't want to be overly descriptive of what I plan on doing, but here is a small hint as to where it will be set.

I know this is really early considering Skyrim doesn't come out until November, but I'm expecting the mapping to take about a year to complete after I get the new construction set and I'm hoping to get as much sorted beforehand as possible.  I really hope the CS gets released earlier than the game...

Anyway, send me a message if you're interested, but at least slightly experienced with this sort of thing.  Also, this is not a paying team position and I can't really offer anything other than credits for work done on whatever sites the mod is on.

Update...

Nevermind, got a team together.   :wave

Go back to it. I hardly ever worry about the gates and there are only 2 that you have to close. You can leave the rest if you want. However if you want to make the Great Gate mission easier then you will have to do a couple more but they aren't really that hard by that stage.

You walked in Morrowind.
Yes it got really repetitive, but built your acrobatics so you could jump like 20 metres in the air  ;D
You could also fast travel and use that big bug to get to major locations couldn't you?
No horses wouldn't be the end of the world, but they need to get it like Red Dead to make it enjoyable.

gotta agree with the horses, that would be ideal if they made it similar to red dead, which was very smooth on the horses.

hopefully they learned from their mistakes in oblivion and will make a better game for it.

New screens here, have to say it looks a bit dissapointing.
This looks exactly like Fallout 3/Oblivion did.  :-\

Hopefully a good game though.
