I'm easily amused but Spain having a player known simply as 'Jonny' makes me want to root for them.

Commentators just said 'Here's Jonny', must be a fan of the shining.

Johny playing infront of Gaya is questionable to say the least.
IŽll say something that might surprise you. Real life is different to computer games.
I think Nadal is brilliant. One of the top 10 ever.

Excellent signing for Sociedad. No idea why better teams didn't buy him, he's fantastic.

Asensio is so good- will he get game time if they sign Mbappe? So comfortable on the ball, a brilliant dribbler, vision and scores goals.

He is a real deal. No doubt about it. If he doesn't do a Jese, he will be some player.

It is clear that Saul is a senior player in that side. Not only a senior player, but also a top player. He just stands out, like Asensio.

I might add that Ceballos is also noticeably better compared to many others.

For Spain, those who made an impression but in a bad way is Delufeu. Bellerin, too, given the fact that he seems to be Barca's top target for the RB position. Arsenal seem to be asking for 60m+ for him. Really? He hasn't done almost anything in attack (except for messing some good moves), and hasn't impressed all too much in defense either. I am afraid he is a pace merchant.

I used to really rate Bellerin but he's regressed so much it's untrue. I remember watching him away at West Brom last season and he was atrocious in attack. Almost every time he got the ball he cut back and played the ball back to a team mate, it seemed like he was absolutely incapable of taking anybody on and he killed Arsenal's momentum going forward.

Ceballos is good but hesitant to shoot. Also, cannot make his decision quick enough. Has to either shoot or release the ball quicker.

Saul hattrick. He is world class. Not sure why Barca didn't active his buy option for Villa sale to Atletico. Barca board is really bad with transfers. Pursuing Verratti who PSG won't sell when there is this guy who we could have bought for dirt cheap.

I have to admit Saul hardly ever stands out when I watch Atleti. He's clearly a solid player in the vast majority of games but he never struck me as having real star quality. Maybe Simeone's tactics are just stifling him a bit.

All tournament he spent making safe passes. Nothing in attack. And unfortunately, not that good in defense.

Disagree. He scored some world class goals for Atletico Madrid. However, yes, he spends a lot of time working hard in midfield rather than shining in attack. His stamina is superb, just like Koke's. Can run all match.

BTW, Bernardeschi, another rumored Barca target, wasn't all that impressive. Decent but didn't seem like he is worth the money his club is asking for. Beyond his price, it is hard to imagine how he can start and do well for a club like Barca.

Unfortunately, the players who impressed me most are at Real Madrid or going there.

Think Spain will edge it, 2-1 - the German defence and midfield will have to be very concentrated and well-positioned to stop them from creating chances, plus this Spain side seem to have found their shooting boots from distance...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V23V8GxEZ98 and Saul Niguez is in form...
