Just been looking at the format for this and it looks really good fun. Each knockout game (Top 24 players) on the last day is played match-play over 6 holes (1,2,8,11,12,18).  If any match remains AS after the six holes they play one sudden death hole on a special tee. If its still AS they then play nearest Pin on this special hole

Its quite a rich Golf event too. I suppose the big names want the FedEx/Race to Dubai rankings and they see this as a bit of a novelty.
