Up to 27th in fifa rankings , lots of good young players playing first team football not just at dundee united , we have an excellent academy and more potential but it's about the ones in the first team .The death of rangers pushed clubs to produce and invest in youth we are starting to see the early shoots of this at all clubs which can only bode well for the national team , you can throw money at academies but if the players aren't given the opportunities to progress to the first team might as well throw it in a hole .
The same reason that Telfer knocked back the rangers to join United .

That's what I said ,he went to a club to play football ,one that has a talented young manager who gives youth a chance ,and a spring board to bigger clubs , why waste his talent on the bench at the rangers .
And agree about Ally , he's not a good manager .

McCoist is a terrible manager. Has been given a free ride for too long because the variety of new bosses don`t want to piss of the fanbase.

Best left back in Scotland now signed for hull city in a 2.85 million deal , fairy tale for the lad , playing part time a year ago ,now a full international and playing in the EPL .United have now manged to clear their debt in an ethical manner and have more great youngsters coming through .Just a pity more clubs weren't keen to take a chance on the lad but it's a good move for him and expect him to do well with the step up .

In addition to free kicks it also needs to be used for throw ins too.

I take it its going to be a good couple of years before this upturn in Scottish football bears fruit on a European stage?

The currant buns will definitely win the Scottish cup this year, so the europa league is nailed on for 2016.

Our coefficient is in safe hands.

the demise of rangers has shown the fans of each club up for what they are.: mutually obsessed in a way that has nothing to do with football.  The fans of most teams would love to romp away with their leagues, supposedly playing superior football, but the empty seats tell their own story. Without a suitable target for their bile the OF have no reason to exist for many of the fans. There's also bound to be knock on effect if the OF don't get their usual 6  games against each other and carve up the lions share of investment in Scottish football.  So to answer your question;yes celtic have got worse because they can't attract the same talent as they could before.

Yet amongst the "diddies" (aka all non-celtic SPL teams) average attendances has mostly increased over the last 2 seasons.

And clubs have invested in youth academies to create their own players and help the Scottish game ,yeah been a nightmare without the rangers , crowds at celtic park will surely drop again this year now ,wonder if they will drop to early 80s levels when the diddy clubs where winning and doing well in Europe and keeping our coefficient higher than celtic and rangers could ?

I came back on the ferry from Belfast on July 13th.

You should have seen the quality of human beings that we had to share with.  My kids were actually scared.

You might not know this,  but on the night of the 12th UTV show the "highlights" from the parades , tell you where it is,  who is who etc and I kid you not 80% of the major players were from Scotland. It's almost as if they are more invested in keeping it alive than the locals.

'Highlights ' pathetic eh , and yeah it seems to be more over here , my friends from over there couldn't care less about it as they try to move on with their lives and not care about a Dutch man from over 300 years ago .

Glad to hear that there was no trouble in derby , have seen a few other pics now and there was some other embarassing political messages at the game , funny and pathetic in equal measure .And they wonder why they are so hated as a club in a Scotland .

Rangers v Hibs in the Challenge/Petrofac Cup tomorrow night to start off our competitive season.

With the amount of players Hibs have lost we should be winning this but I've really got no confidence in us at the moment.

It's getting boring now , has there ever been a club that's died started afresh then gone into admin ?

Rangers are facing a fresh financial crisis after failing to convince city investors to sign up to a new share issue, BBC Sport has learned.

Do Celtic get a chance to qualify for the Europa? If not, Scotlands co-efficient will have taken another hit this year. Long gone are the days of having two teams in the CL most years and/or making the later stages of the Uefa cup.

Which says it all about the two cheeks , glory hunters nothing more , in the 80s when united and Aberdeen were the top teams crowds as low as 5,000 in Glasgow, people think football started in the 90s though when the money came in , we were playing a higher standard of football back then with regular runs in the European cup and the other two , our coefficient was higher .The crowds will be worse this year at parkhead again it's shame that they feed off each other's hatred .
It's now looking like Lennon was right getting out as he mentioned the biscuit tin mentality of celtic ,I can see the other teams in Scotland being closer to them this year as there is no chance they will be investing in top players now , might even see a few heading out , the keeper for one .
And the rangers finances aren't looking to clever again so let's hope hearts and hibs come up and we will get another year of peace as will the hospitals in Glasgow and the woman .
