He claimed a corner on about the hour mark which was quite straight forward despite a few heads going up around him. A pretty forgettable moment in the game but I thought how everything he does just eases pressure.

You get past our midfield, and then somehow get a chance to get beyond our back line, and then Alisson.

Seems unfair.

Best goalie I’ve seen play for us and, obviously, the best in the world at the moment. Last night, he looked like he’s back to himself after the injury and rehab. Some of the balls he catches would have other keepers leaping to save them. His positioning and footwork cut out the need for so many saves and last gasp parries.

It’s a pity about the injury as it would have been good to see him clear up the golden gloves awards again.

He claimed a corner on about the hour mark which was quite straight forward despite a few heads going up around him. A pretty forgettable moment in the game but I thought how everything he does just eases pressure.

depends on the quality of the cross of course, but he is one the keepers you do see just plucking it out of the air and making life simple for everyone, whereas nowadays most keepers seem intent on punching it clear regardless of whether it was safely/easily catchable or not (something that irritates the fuck out of me when watching games)

and how often do you hear the commentators remark the shot was 'straight at him' - there's a reason for that...

you don't see him making spectacular saves very often cos his positional awareness is second to none

you dont win shit without a top goalie (fuck, we know that as well as anyone) and we have what atm appears to be the best around, as important a signing as VVD to me, equally game changing for us and totally complementary

we were crying out for a dominant cb since sami and top quality keeper since pepe, and when we did get them, we hit the fucking jackpot at the same time  ;D

Clouds and silver linings and all that. It gave him a rest and allowed Adrian to bed himself in with the first team and we all saw he had a very decent run. None of us is overly worried if he plays and it makes me feel better knowing our FA Cup keeper is up to the job.

That's why you don't want to make a judgement on a player based on one game alone. Also the quality of the shots that he faced against us in that mach, were world class, and there was nothing he could do. But if you watched the previous leg, against Barca, it was clear why Roma had even a miracle of a chance in the 2nd leg, as he made some fantastic saves in the first match.
