Isn't he the lead singer of Bon Jovi?

Nah, that was Tom Jones..

It's all very well for people like yourselves to come in here and make light of it, but for those of us who had to endure his crooning it was a traumatic experience. Very traumatic.

Sorry that is wrong I checked on Redcafe and it was Busby who said it first. Apparently a lot of his quotes were plagiarised. A few examples.

"One small step for man, one giant leap for Mankind - Sir Matt Busby"

"Ich bin ein Berliner – Sir Matt Busby"

"I have a dream - Sir Matt Busby"

Haha. What is certain is that Glaswegians get more than a little ‘exercised’ at the Stratford End’s version of history 😄

Not sure if it’s because I really wanted Leicester to win or the fact it was the first game for ages that fans were in but it felt like a real shot in the arm for FA Cup today.

I really enjoyed it and the scenes at the end were great to see

Funny as feck seeing the BBC camera moving at light speed from the 2 Leicester players celebrating holding a Palestinian flag:

Are both channels going to broadcast the final?

Pleased for Rodgers. Took us to within inches of a deserved title (well, Suarez did...). Ran out of steam with us and was too soon for him maybe, but has always been extremely classy about the club and the fans. Pleased for him.

As a side note, it's gonna be horrible willing a Chelsea CL win isn't it?

Well we don't want the Waterdrinkers to win, that's for sure. As usual in these circumstances I shall be willing a third option. A tactical nuclear battle in the Porto area for example (sorry Portugal).

100% right. Streets ahead of most British coaches.

Also, again allowing for the Suarez factor - responsible for one of the all time most breathtaking 20-25 mins of football I’ve seen at Anfield in that Arsenal game.

That Suarez header, the best non goal I've ever seen.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

For all sorts of reasons, that was one of the great FA Cup Finals. Leicester's final, Tielemans' final, Schmeichel's final, Khun Vichai's final, the anti-ESL final. Most of all, it was the Fans' Final, the final when football started to feel like football again.

Pleased for Leicester and Rodgers. Some of those scenes were really beautiful, really touching.

Tuchel’s treatment of Abraham is very strange. Assume something else must have happened - perhaps disciplinary issues? Because it just can’t be a case of not fancying him as a player surely?

I love this idea that the PL is being ruined by 6 evil clubs while the other 14 are good, pure socialist collectives who only charge a tenner to get in and plough all profits into local charities. If Leicester had been offered a role in the ESL they’d have snapped their hand off.

Anyway, well done to them and I’m genuinely delighted for Brendan

Seen this kind of sentiment a lot from journos and the like today, but they'll all be sucking off the Mancs in the EL final and the all English CL final with 2 of the SL clubs in it.

It's not about the SL, it's about a different name on a trophy. Leicester had never won the FA Cup. Chelsea and City have had a monopoly on the domestic cups after spending billions  on their squads.

That was the most significant FA cup final in years, simply due to fans being in the stadium and a financially doped club not winning it. Absolute joy to watch.

It was nice to see the fans in the stadium. But I must admit if I was a Chelsea supporter I'd be extremely miffed that no tickets were allocated to the London club. Was this a Covid-related thing?

The thing I liked the most about the goal was that Tielemans didn't even seen to leather the ball, looked effortless and sailed in the top corner. Wasn't too sure on him at the start of the season but he's been class for them this season

The BBC were going on about Leicester ownership being some sort of example. It's really bizarre. The sooner football realises all clubs are trying to pull the ladder from below them, the sooner we could get some real change

having just seen the goal - fuck me, my pet peave

defenders turning their backs/side, thus making themselves a smaller blocking object, fucking pussies, thiago literally is moving himself out of the way of stopping that ball, i fucking hate it, if he'd just fronted up (arms behind his back whatever) he'd blocked it

im glad leicester won but geez, happens so fucking often, defenders moving out of the way rather than taking a hit from the ball

What's killed it is the same teams winning it every year. It never used to be like that. When someone different wins it it means something again. Even in our heyday we only won it once a decade (twice in the 80's).

The magic is usually more in the earlier rounds with lower league and non league teams.

What else has killed it:
-the Premier League obsession
-the gap between rich and poor is so enormous that there's very few upsets
-the rich teams routinely using it as an attempt rotate their entire squads, despite the fact that the games are scheduled for league weekends
-replays
-media constantly banging on about "THE MAGIC OF THE CUP" as part of their paywalled "we're just like you real folks" marketing bullshit
-referees doing full "magic of the cup" refereeing and putting their worst performances of the season
-fat c*nts eating pies on screen for The S*n or some shit betting company

If anything it’s the other 14 clubs that are also part of the problem. They take hundreds of millions of PL money every season and only invest just enough to stay in the league. Leicester’s owners however are richer than ours, so they’re  hardly paupers.

Stockport v Bolton tonight on BBC2 has been a great watch. 4-3 Stockport (from being 3-1 down), currently half time in extra time if anyone craves the sight of 22 men before bedtime.
