Why do you hope to see Lallna there just out of curiosity? Surely Hendo or Gini move back and Keita/Ox fill in?
Lallana had a pretty good game against Villa when he came in, he plays the role in a different way but against Brighton at home the more attacking threat the better for me

Today / tomorrow.

The club may release the news but more than likely be the presser tomorrow.

Of course I believe Fabinho is one of our most important players, but I'm not so worried about the midfield 3 especially with the relatively okay opposition we will face in the next month. I just hope Fab returns by the time we got those tricky fixtures against Spurs and Man Utd on January 11 and 19. I'm afraid the Trent and Gomez situation around January last year could hurt us again, this time with Fab. But I'm not so worried, as I say, because we got a number of good players who even need more time such as Keita, Ox and even Lallana can play in that three. Hell, Klopp would probably slot Milner ahead of those 3 with Hendo and the Gynae so the juices will be coming on nicely. I'm more worried about the wing-backs staying fresh and energetic as they are key for us.

Following Liverpool since the mid 80s.

What worries me more is that our system seems set up to win games consistently by tight margins and perhaps he is a vital cog in that.

I would be far less worried if we were winning games convincingly,.

Something I think we’ll miss most is the way he dictates our tempo with his quick forward passing. Probably my favourite player in the squad since 2nd half of last year. Keeping fingers crossed it’s not as bad as feared and he’s back relatively quickly.
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

It did look very serious instantly, you could just see that sideways flex of the knee would not be walked off.
If he is back in full swing by Leicester game - I'd be made up.

Yes- obviously ankle. Hence why wearing a protective ankle boot not a knee brace.

It did look like a knee injury in real time but as the poster above me said, he left wearing an ankle brace and Klopp said that his ankle was in pain shortly after the match. Hopefully we'll have news and some kind of time frame by tomorrow.

Definitely his ankle, he went over it on the outside, the opposite way to how players usually do their ankle.  Didn't look like it went too deep but because it's the other side I wonder if that's more susceptible to a long term injury.

Any lay off is hardly ideal but I think we can cope without him. The league games we have coming up are games we really should be winning even if we have a couple missing. The fact he'll miss the Salzburg game is a massive pain though as he's been massive in a few European away games.

The Villa game he wouldn't play anyway, and I'm not too arsed about the Club world cup. If he can be back for the Leicester game I'd take that now. That said a couple of injury concerns have dragged on, ie. Matip.

Was pretty worried seeing it live. Looked like the kind of knee/ankle injury you see a lot of quarterbacks get in the NFL - big guys going into a planted leg with force. Hope it's not as bad as feared.

We'll have to wait on the official word but I think it's obvious that he's going to be out for some massive games during a very hectic period. And he's not exactly going to come back after a 1-2 month layoff at 100% so it could be late Jan/early Feb before he's back fit and firing on all cylinders like he was up until now. And that's probably a best-case scenario. Potentially awful news, but we'll have to make do without him.

It's definitely a busy period he'll miss, but there aren't many difficult fixtures until the Leicester game.

It sucks if he is out for 4/5 weeks, but I think it could have been worse.

Not great but this is where we really should be able to get through using the squad.

Gini, Hendo, Ox, Naby, Milner and Lallana should be plenty with Shaq coming back too.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Remember when the pundits were questioning why we spent so much on him. Probably doubled in value now. He will be missed but we do have good depth and these are the fixtures where Ox, Lallana and Keita can shine.

I was worried when Matip went down but in truth Lovren has been excellent.

Next man up. Unlike City we won’t cry about it.

Was thinking the same. Will see over the next couple of days how it all goes.

If he is out this long, then this is the ''best'' period for him to miss considering we've played all of the teams in the top six already.

It shuffles the midfield, with either Henderson or Gini playing as the #6, so room for Ox and Keita

Probably a twisted ankle then. Not a long-term injury and won't lose much overall fitness if he's being out for a month. It's important that we keep winning without him, we have a schedule where we could keep the pace. We've got six players who are natural CM's after all.

Gini and Lallana can cover between them.

Hendo needs to stay where he is. Him and Milner can swap between them. Then Ox, Keita and Shaq for the other side of the 3.

Lallana has played in that position twice in his career, I'm not entirely convinced that he can do that against most sides. But we'll see. In any case it's not the end of the world.

I think this is a blessing in disguise. As we’ve got six senior midfielders and this gives a couple of them a chance to get a run of games and build.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him
