Fuck me what a day yesterday, to say I'm gutted is an understatement. Nearly feel as bad as the mayo defeat! Fair play to Cork for sticking at it where other teams have rolled over. Experience told in the end and I think our boys had nothing left in the tank to see it out. At least it made for exciting game, best of luck in the final Billy! Bernard Brogan for player of the year. Up the Dubs!

What the fuck are you on about? What exactly has Graham Geraghty got to do with an AI Semi-Final between Dublin and Tyrone, and wheter Bernard Brogan will get player of the year or not? Geraghty (whatever anyone thinks of him) deserved that All Star. And every other award he ever got, he is one of the greatest players to grace Croke Park. You are lucky to have witnessed him play, if you even watch the game that is, I'm still not convinced you do. I sincerely hope that they have no internet access in France.

He didn't deserve it that year ahead of McConville and certainly shouldn't have been allowed it after his behaviour in Australia that year. And that's what I mean, Brogan is a shoo in but if things like that happen, then I wouldn't be surprised if he DIDN'T get it.

On a more serious note, yet another youngster with no apparent health problems is being laid to rest this week after collapsing in the middle of a game.

Teenage player dies in Rostrevor GAA game

Patrick Dinsmore collapsed while taking part in a match on Sunday
A 16-year-old gaelic football player has died during a game at the weekend.

Patrick Dinsmore, who played for St Peter's, Warrenpoint, collapsed while taking part in a match in Rostrevor, on Sunday.

He was treated by a doctor and two nurses who were at the ground and although a defibrillator was used, the teenager could not be revived.

Patrick would have been 17 on Tuesday. A post mortem examination is to be carried out later on Monday.

The game on Sunday was being held at the Greenpark Road in Rostrevor.

"He wasn't on the ball and there had been no incident before - he just collapsed," Feargal McCormack, a spokesman for the St Peter's club said.

'Shocked'

"Everything that could be done was done for Patrick, a very highly respected player at our club and from a very well known Warrenpoint family."

He added: "St Peter's GAA club is a very tight community and it will rally around, as will the community," he said.

"Everyone was just shocked and any help they can be to the family they will and our thoughts and prayers are with Patrick's family."

SDLP Newry and Mourne Councillor Michael Carr said: "This really is a devastating, utterly devastating, death of a fine young man.

"The local area is finding it hard to come to terms with it, as the young lad was so well thought of and was taking part in something he loved, representing his local community.

"People have been contacting me about this and everybody is truly shocked numb."

Education Minister and South Down MLA Caitriona Ruane also expressed her shock at Patrick's death and extended her sympathy to his family and friends.

"Patrick was a pupil of St Colman's College in Newry and was due to receive his GCSE results tomorrow, along with many of his friends and peers," she said.

"What should have been a day of celebration will now be struck through with sadness and my thoughts are with all those at the school who knew Patrick."

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is an all Ireland sporting and community organisation.

Becoming far too common these days. There was another story front of the Irish News last week about how an Antrim camogie player who's known to have a heart condition can't give up the sport she loves even though she knows it could kill her.

I can understand the lyrics up as far as "it was not her beauty at all that won me"

Whats the line after that? The bit before "Stella the Rose of Tralee?

Not often they have a single man presenting the Rose.

Though how that man is still single I don't know.

No we don't. Used to have a massive crush on her boyfriend, til I actually met him.

Jeffiner, me and you should do one of them ads for the Championship. Do you know the ones I'm on about? Those Bank Of Ireland ads with couples from different counties? I can picture it now, me and you arm in arm, in our red & white and red & black jerseys, standing on the end of Clonliffe Avenue, a scarlet sky in the background as the sun sets, with the towering stand of the Cusack also in the background.

Jeffiner: It was love at first sight for us

Billy: I'll ride whatever I get

Then it fades to "The Bank of Ireland Football Championship", as I tickle your belly button and pat you on the arse. What you reckon babes? Are you on for it? :P

You mean the stupid ULSTER BANK ones?

"My ma's his da's sister..."
"His da's my ma's brother"
I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

That sounds like a festival I wouldn't mind attending :)

Its funny all these acts are from either Cork, Limerick our Kerry I think we're all slightly deranged down here, our we just dont give a fuck. The dubs to up there own holes to have a sense of humour about themselves.

Just back from cans in town and I'm glad its over 5 days solid drinking would take its toll on a man, at least I got to see Derek do the hucklebuck anyway, he was like a white flash.
