That Liver building picture must have been c1912 or so but when you look at a picture of the docks from c1890's, here's one of Salthouse...

All those sailing ships needed people able to climb up the masts and walk along them to set the canvas, and in all weathers.

It must have been an unimaginably harsh and perilous existence.

The only problem is that when something goes wrong emergency services or volunteer mountain rescue have to put their lives st risk to carry out a rescue.

I'd never criticise them though, I ride motorbikes and have skydived, things considered by some to be very dangerous. It's their life and, so long as they are not hurting anyone else, then they are free to choose what they do.

No fatalities. 10 with some injuries, worst 2 were one has a broken wrist and a pregnant woman had some stomach pain, hopefully the baby is ok.
