Really hope he can get back to his best next season. Looking at his career stats, it looks like he's never been injury prone, but we've seen that even the indestructible ones like Virgil lose something after a serious knee injury. So  infuriating that our most costly injuries are caused by reckless tackles by utter c*nts who don't suffer any consequences.

Thankfully his injuries were much less severe than van Dijk's and the recovery should be more straightforward.

Here's what Klopp had to say about his return to training in Dubai prior to the 2nd injury:

Quote
"I can tell you the two sessions he had with us in Dubai in the training camp it was like 'oh my God, how good is that?'."

Hopefully he will be just as sharp on his return this time. He seems like a naturally fit lad though there did look like there'd been some atrophy on the injured leg in the pics we saw a month or so ago but I'm sure he'll get there.

It likely will be next season before he's back to his best but he can still have an impact in the 12+ remaining games.

Was amazing to see this lad in full flight and he just wants to grab the game by the scruff of the neck on occasions. Hope we still yet to see the best from him as could be the difference

Great news about his return to the squad of course, but I think it'd be naive to expect him to come in and rescue the season given the length of his layoff. Would expect him to be 5th choice forward for the remainder of the season behind Salah, Nunez, Jota and Gakpo, and then when he's got a pre-season behind him in the summer, he can focus on ousting one of the above names from the starting XI.

Yeah it's probable that he won't be at his best until next season, but don't rule him out of making an impact. He's naturally a very explosive player so while he'll lack some match sharpness, we should still see the energy and intensity if nothing else.

Here's what Klopp had to say on his return from the original injury:

Quote
“I can tell you the two sessions he had with us in Dubai at the training camp it was like, ‘Oh my god, how good is that?’” Klopp recalled last month. “Then he was injured again.”

Let's hope he's anything like as sharp this time as it sounds like he was then.

Goal and an assist a game average till the end, all im asking. coupla hatties maybe, starting with City. Some kinda firestorm irresistible connection thing with all the others.

Nope.

No.
No.
No.

Not a thing. But will take three goals in a match anytime from Diaz. One will do on Saturday.

I think I am too hyped about this for the sake of  my own mental health. Just a couple of compilations on Youtube and damn, that directness in his approach. I feel him trying to do that will bring back Salah's and Jota's confidence on running at defenses incessantly.

It's great to finally see him back, it gives Klopp all options upfront and can start to experiment in training with different combinations to see how they work as a collective. There's too much talent there to not get a cohesive 3 out of that lot.

I’ve no expectation on Diaz for this season. It’s taken Jota ages to look match sharp and his injury was no where near as severe as Diaz’s.
