Doubters to believers....

The journey we have been on has been nothing short of miraculous. Obviously I wasn't around for the beginnings of Shankly and the days of the bootroom. But in my mind it has that same feeling. That same bastion of invincibility. That same belief.

We were a team that had sunk as low as applauded getting beaten at Anfield by Real Madrid, getting beaten by Villa in the semi finals of the FA cup, beaten 6-1 to Stoke.

To where we are now as the most feared side in the League, in Europe and hopefully soon to be proven the world. Not a single team on the planet wants to play against us right now.

Obviously the 2nd leg against Barca will live with me for the rest of my life.

These are the days to cherish. Here is to the next 4 (hopefully if he signs a new deal)

He's been outstanding so far, watching the journey of the team has been a pleasure. Keep up the good work Boss.

I hope he is here for the refresh of the squad. I think it would be very interesting to see how he and the staff go about changing the team as it ages to keep it fresh. I would like to hear from the grey beards on RAWK as to how did Mr. Shankly go about that in years past to keep the team on top - that I think is the mark of an elite manager/coach/organization - exciting times!

Progress simply put.

First 8 games of season 2015-16 before Kloppo arrived:

WWDLLDWD – 12 points, 10th in the PL table.

First 8 games of season 2019-20:

WWWWWWWW – 24 points, top of the table.

(Credit: https://twitter.com/BenWebbLFC/status/1181330533797826571?s=20)

Maybe the most astounding gauge of the progress is in Europe. From the embarrassment of our 1 CL campaign in 2014-15, to not winning a knock-out tie even in the Europa league for goodness knows how long. Fast forward to now, and to 3 European finals, becoming Champions of Europe, Super Cup winners, and having not lost a knockout round in all that time.

Kloppo is something else.

The fact that we have competed in all three European finals we've been eligible for under Klopp is ridiculously impressive.

yeah that's ridiculous! Especially when you consider the first one, the Europa, which was done with him arriving 2 months into the season, working with a squad built by previous managers, a squad who'd not done a thing in Europe at that point, and did so playing some great football and against some excellent teams, before we ran out of steam. Then to get to back to back CL finals is another level again. And the 1st one, again as an underdog I would say, no one (apart from some LFC fans) had us as a likely finalist that season, especially after the whole Coutinho soap opera.  Then last season, we where on the map, so he's done it both as an underdog (which is what he'd been his whole career until the last season and a bit) and with a team who where by that point very much back.

The team which started his first game was:

Mignolet

Clyne
Skrtel
Sakho
Moreno

Can
Lucas
Milner
Lallana
Coutinho

Origi

Allen & Ibe came off the bench.

We’ve come a long way in 4 years.

A run-down of his first 4 years in stats, from PA/Sporting Life:

Quote
Here, the PA news agency looks at some of the numbers in his reign.

221 - number of games played in all competitions.

320 - points won in the Premier League from 152 matches at an average of 2.11 per game.

146 - the number of games it took Klopp to record 300 league points - the fewest required by any of the club's managers.

458 - goals scored in all competitions - averaging 2.07 goals per game, the highest ratio by any Reds manager in the last 123 years.

58.82 - win percentage (130 in 221 games), bettered only by one previous Liverpool manager John McKenna (69.44).

92 - wins in Klopp's first 150 Premier League games, more than any other Liverpool manager.

67 - players used by the club during Klopp's four-year, 221-match reign.

44 - average number of minutes between Liverpool goals (458 goals in 20,010 minutes).

43 - number of occasions Klopp's side have scored four goals or more in a game.

14 - number of Premier League teams Klopp is unbeaten against.

17 - successive league victories recorded (currently), a club best and one short of Manchester City's record which they can equal at Manchester United on October 20.

1 - the first manager to take an English team to three European finals in his first three seasons of European competition.

Not too shabby, really.  :D
Jürgen Klopp (26 June 2020)
"We were good 4 years ago.  We were really good 3 years ago.  We were unbelievably good last year.  And this year it is absolutely exceptional.  Second to none that I know."

Lived up to all of the hype so far. I remember following everything going on four years ago. I was still in school at the time and missed my classes that day, so I could watch all of the coverage and listen to his interviews. It was a surreal moment.

With that being said, there is still more to be accomplished!

Flawless 4 years really

If you were super picky what could you actually pick at?

Transfers, largely spot on
Development of players
Progress on the field
Silverware
League title eventually, this season, next season, its coming

I was late to drink the Klopp koo laid, thought he played to the galleries too much at first, but now i'm a bonafide Stan

Hiring Klopp was one of the best decisions in the club's history.

Like all fans I get a lot of predictions wrong. I probably speak for many others though when I say that from the minute Klopp's appointment was made official I knew we were onto something special. From day one I was convinced he was the perfect fit for Liverpool on and off pitch, and there hasn't been a moment since where I've thought otherwise.

His Liverpool side have given our current Liverpool fans some of the most memorable moments.

We old chaps remember the title winning Liverpool sides in the 1980s, the Houllier treble, and 2005.  Now we have our own memories and stories to tell.

He united the club from top to bottom and all the way through. And he’s not only done it by building a winning team, it’s a winning team playing the best football I’ve seen at Anfield. From any team ever! They’re breaking records, they’ll break a few more as they write more stories into Liverpool Legend. Klopp’s leading an almighty charge. What a top manager. Not just football manager, but in general. Lot to learn from the way he goes about his business - managing not only those who answer to him, but how he manages those he answers to. Brilliant 4 years, let’s hope there are many more with more success.

I find myself thinking sometimes what a great alignment of the planets that all these good things are here at once. Then I remember, what has really happened was that hard work in the background and some excellent quality thinking came together with an appointment of someone with the same excellence of character that Kenny has, coupled with a younger mans appetite to oversee this glorious build, looking for all the little details that help LFC become better all the time, bit by bit.

I am very fond of what I once uncovered about an Italian climber/explorer who said “gradatim conscenditur ad alta” / “gradually conquer the heights”
This was the motto of Guido Monzino, whose life has been a continuous rise towards the supreme values of human existence. As a 27 year old in the 50’s he walked from Guinea to Senagal, along the Ivory Coast, a good 2000 miles even as the crow flies. He had already by then climbed the Matterhorn. Subsequently he made a total of 21 expeditions to places including Patagonia, Equatorial Africa, Greenland, the North Pole and the Himalayas. I feel alright about taking a long time to appreciate the work of Jurgen here, because Guido gave me permission in this phrase.

It's crazy to think it's only been four years.  The transformation on the pitch, behind the scenes and in the stands is unbelievable.

Ignoring the CL win, my favourite moment was Klopp taking the players over to celebrate with the fans after Origi's late goal against West Brom.  It was right in the middle of him focusing on turning the moaners/quitters into supporters/believers.  He got a lot of stick from opposition fans - a few fans of other clubs where I work were certainly taking the piss - but it was clear to see what he was trying to do.
