It's so good getting to see Layton back into his stride after an awful run of injuries. I hope he steps up his career now, he is such a natural goal scorer, the third one was a forty-yard chip over the keeper. It sounded a wonderfully taken goal.

I’m hoping we might see him get some minutes in the League Cup. If he’s banging in the goals for the 21’s then that’s the next step for him to get a taster of what’s required at first team level.

If Layton never had those injuries he would be near our first team, not only can he score goals but has a well rounded game to go with it, a lot more tools in his box than Oakley for example who is one of the best finishers at the club.

Just don’t know how much the injury has set him back but I’m rooting for him, always a good player to watch.

Really good to see/read that Morton is doing well on his loan.

Great to hear he’s doing well. Looks very impressive in that clip. Remember his performance against Milan at the San Siro last season and he ran the show. There’s definitely a gap for a midfielder to break through in the first team currently. Hopefully keeps it up and has a good pre season.

Looks to be growing in confidence, with all those little flicks.  Whoever edited the video needs binning though, those transitions were horrible.

Bajcetic and Morton can hopefully be part of Klopp's next squad he needs to build. The midfield pretty much needs gutting at this point. A good season in Blackburn's side and Morton could be ready. He wasn't physically ready last season but showed a lot of promise.

He still looks quite slight, but the fact that he's playing well in a physical league is really promising.  And he's showing great touches too.

Morton is brilliant, looked class every time i’ve seen him play and plays like a much older player. This loan will be doing him the world of good snd it’s great to see him growing in confidence. I think if he can get a bit stronger he’ll be in a great position to cement a place in our side, he’s a very smart player and knows how to buy himself that extra yard of space without being the quickest. Great range of passing too and it’s nice to see him in advanced positions as well, always been impressed with his long range passing so the little give and go’s are wonderdul to see in his game

Morton going for the Veron/Rui Costa socks down style.

Thumbs up from me.

Just watching the highlights of the U21 win against Wolves and Bobby Clark seems to have stood out again. Great at pressing, can pick a pass, beat a man. Be interesting to see how he develops.

I really like the look of Clark as an 8, don't think he should be playing as a forward.

Glad Morton is now finding his way in that Blackburn team and starting to dictate the game, after what I think the fans thought was a little underwhelming start.  Delighted to see another one from the academy make a real success for himself, but the idea that he could cement a place in the midfield of an LFC first eleven is a huge leap.  You have to be at least of international standard plus.  Harvey and Curtis haven’t cemented their places yet.   Sorry to put a downer on it.  I like Morton and really hope the best for him.

I dont think youth players who come through have to be international plus. As long as they play the right way, perform to what is expected and more AND there is room in the first team squad AND play them, who knows whether they will be fantastic or just normal squad filler?. We simply cant keep buying players for the sake of it. Play the young guys. Save the club ton of money and gives younger players incentive to push for future.Hopefully Morton, Bacjectic and 1 or 2 others come through and get played.

Doaks gonna end up getting games in the first team if he's not careful
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

He's one of those players who looks really good at youth level, but once you get him against seniors, his physical approach won't be enough.

Absolutely, very quick and direct but doesn't seem to have the refined touch to make the most of his directness.

2-1 Liverpool now. Frauendorf finishes a counter with a nice sidefooted finish
