If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

While I obviously hope Alisson's injury is a minor calf strain or something, I'm delighted with the crowd reaction to Adrian. That's a wonderful way to give a player confidence. Well done Anfield.

Is is still possible to get emergency loans in at keeper? Fear we might need to look into this (or recalling Grabara)

Can’t believe we’re 4-0 up in our first game and there’s such a thing as a low point in that half. God I hope that’s not too serious for Alisson.

He said no need to the stretcher which was a good sign

We will need him, but I hope it's only for the short time. Still, he can be a hero in the Super Cup if Ali isn't back. A chance to help us win a major trophy.

I had the same thought... think there is still the possibility of an emergency loan.

Doubt there will be the option to recall Grabara as it's a season long loan.

A baptism of fire for the lad.  If it's got to happen then I suppose this is the best way for it to go.  Not quite in at the deep end but certainly rising to the challenge.

Just hope Becker isn't too bad!

what an upgrade on Mignolet, so much more comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Nope, had no chance from what I could tell. Shot taken early, arrowed low into the bottom corner, great finish.

Is right, he had no chance whatsoever.
I think his distribution showed how much more suited he is to the system than Mignolet

I do. He wasn't aggressive enough off his line. That said, very few keepers are that aggressive. Which is what sets Becker apart.

Think he showed great mentality, given how he was unexpectedly thrown in like that.  Of course, keepers on the bench always have to be prepared to come on in an emergency, but it's not often you're pulled into the fray in such circumstances.  He coped very well.

Nothing against Migs, but Adrian is an unknown quantity for many of us, so we could approach his introduction with neutral eyes.  If it had been Simon coming on I think any number of arses might have started twitching, 4-0 up or no.

It was a great situation to be in, coming on to make your debut when your team are so far ahead in the first half. Obviously would have preferred different circumstances.

Thought he did okay, he does look comfortable with the ball at his feet, and he didn’t try anything too clever.

Initially I thought he could have done better with their goal, although seeing it back it was a very smart finish.

Hope he still looks good in the coming weeks, as he’s going to get a few minutes

He looked alright, very nice to have someone good with the ball. The goal is where you notice the difference, he's not done much wrong as such, it's just Alisson is so good that anytime a player is in on our goal he's usually somehow right in their face every time and blocks it. Like the offside one which was fucking stunning. We could have Ter Stegen as back up and the situation still wouldn't feel good but hopefully we are alright, the fixtures aren't too bad though Southampton will be tough.

Welcome to the big leagues Adrian. He's surely an upgrade on Mignolet, so I'm feeling quite comfortable with him between the sticks for a few weeks. Loved that reception, well in Anfield.
