Heads up everyone:

Lad we know has just landed in Rome:

"heads up to reds travelling into rome by train. police are escorting reds off the train into the station police station some armed some in nornal clothes for "questioning" and bag searches. so if anyone's got any gear or carrying anything moody get rid. they are hunting for arrests. Seen my stone island jacket in my bag and were conviced we were ultras. They also questioned us intensely about us wearing the Hillsborough justice campaign badge as they thought it was a ultras logo. Safe to say they were devastated they had nothing on us for arrest.

There are also undercover police sitting on trains."

He's put pictures up as well and the police followed them back to their hotel keeping their distance.

Do not give any opportunity for the police to get you over there and paint us in the light they want to.

Have a few bevvies and keep your heads down.

See you all over there.

Shame they can't actually do that for their own shithouse Ultra "fans" so any away fans don't have to watch their backs constantly.  :wanker

Warm with showers and thunderstorms seems to be the forecast tomorrow.
Stabbed your boss in the back, the man who made you fucking European Champions, and got in the man you wanted as manager. Just because Rafa wouldn't fucking cuddle you enough and fucking wank you off while telling you how fucking great you are.

Have we got a separate coach to the ground as I understood from the info they sent out that they are advising us to use the shuttle buses?

The info I have got says this:

Quote
At around 6pm local time we ask you to be back at the coaches for your transfer to the stadium. Please listen for announcements on the aircraft and coaches as times for the pick-up might change. Your safety and security are important, so please take the municipal bus/coaches to the stadium and listen to the advice from police who control the park-stadium transfers. Our reps have no juristiction over this.

The last line was the bit that confused me as I had assumed we have our own transport included. I'll double check on the plane I think!

Mine is from the second Manchester flight, not sure if they're all the same.

Is the alcohol ban only drinking in public places or does it include bars/cafes/restaurants etc?

Public places like squares and such. Can't see how enforceable it will be though, but I wouldn't want to take the risk of testing it.

This is the info i got on the email (7.30 flight )..

Reads to me like we have our own coaches to/from the ground.

Check-in at Manchester will open at 04:30 hrs.

Please make sure you check-in at least one hour and 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Full information about coaches will be given to you on the outbound flight.

On arrival in Rome the Sport Options reps will direct you to your coaches for your transfer to the city centre. Normally the drop off organised by the police is a park called Villa Borghese. On previous visits the drop off has been towards the Via Vittorio Veneto end of the park. It will be from this same point that the municipal buses will go to the stadium at approx. 6pm.

After the match coaches will be waiting outside the away end to transfer you back to the airport for your return flight home. Please look for the Sport Options Coaches.

The flight departs Roma at 01:55 local time and is due back to Manchester around 04:45 local time. Please note timings are very much subject to how long you are kept in the stadium in Rome and also subject to further delay if there is extra time and penalties.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Please note we do not supply travel insurance. It is essential that you take out your own insurance prior to travel.

Yep, that's the full version of what I got, it was just that line "please take the municipal bus/coaches to the stadium" that threw me.

That reads as Sports Option coach from the airport to Villa Borghese. Municipal coaches/buses from Villa Borghese to Stadium at 6pm. Picked up from the Stadium in Sports Options coaches direct to the airport.

Surely it can’t be as bad as Porto??

Nothing can be that bad. It literally didn't stop for 1 minute. Lovely city in the sunshine- shame if the only experience some have was that day!

Is it jacket/coat weather? On the day trip so rather go with more than less.

Has anyone here done sportsoptions before? Can you usually leave stuff on the buses for later or have to take everything with you?

Take with you. You’re not assigned a coach-you get on one of about 5 or 6.
You could ask but I’d not expect so.

Just the day trip so even if it’s a bag or coat not too much faff to carry around for a few hours?

Did it for Porto and no

You just get on whichever coach you come to first. We just took draw string rucksacks (small ones) and carried them - with a carrier back inside as it rained all day!! :(

We left gear on there for the final in Basel. We brought a rucksack with all our crap for travelling then had a couple of those (sort of boot bags) that you can throw in your pocket in case you end up buying any shite or drinks etc.

Just on train home from Manc airport.  Buses and security checks getting in were time consuming and a pain but it did the job of stopping any trouble. Didn't see any problems over the 2 days and nights we were there. The buses dropping us off at Termini after the batch was a bonus.  Shame they have to go to such lengths to protect us from their own fans !
