One of the youth team, cleaning the senior pro's boots.

Looking at the design of the shorts, I'd say mid-late 70s. ( although the haircut is more 80s)

Don't recognise him immediately.

It actually looks like a young Paul Dalgleish, but he was only a youth player in 96/97 ish, and by then Souness had done away with the boot room, hadn't he?

Are there any written/photographic biographies charting the development and history of Anfield stadium?

I know this is a LFC historical photo thread however this post, I thought it would be the most apt place to share some images of artwork that we have been slaving over for a few years. It's been such a labour of love/ passion project that we're very proud of.

It is a painting done in oils which include 96 of our best ever players that graced the hallowed turf of Anfield in our last 125 years. It also includes our founder and our managing royalty.

What do you all think?

Thanks.

We were hoping to have it hung at the club or museum in some capacity however they knocked back our overtures.

We're not sure exactly what we will do with it at the moment. We do hope to exhibit it when the club, former players do visit our fair shores. 5Times do visit quite often.

Fowler, James, McAteer, Hamann, McManaman, Harkness loved it when they saw it, and we hope to keep exhibiting it for as while.

Thank you for your interest.

Bolton v Liverpool 20/09/1947

Looks like Albert Stubbins and maybe Balmer. Game finished 0-0.

A good view of the old Burnden Park. The previous year many had died whilst attending a game at the stadium.

Never seen this one before ... from @angelcakephotos on Twitter:

Titled 'Bunking into the Kop at Anfield' no date info.

Guesses folks?

I'm leaning towards the record crowd v Wolves in 1952 --- 62000 odd. Could be earlier though ... maybe the restart of football after the War? Or our last home game winning the title that year. Whatever, it's a belting photo  ;D

Yeah, I know it's the clickbait Echo, but some cracking photos of a Wallasey Social Club's epic journey to Rome and back in 1977  :D

Asleep upright on the coach, pissed and happy on the Ferry, boiled to death on warm lager in arid campsites ... oh the memories  ;D

I lost touch with the lads I went with and one of them had a camera, never saw the photos. Off chance, anyone know of Kenny Mawson of Fazakerley or Alan Jenkins of Anfield? You never know ...  :D

With Liverpool possibly winning the title in late Summer this year, a look back at the year 1946-47 when we won it on the 14th June. It had been one of the harshest Winters in years which led to many games being postponed well in to early Summer time. When Liverpool beat Wolves at Molineux in their last game of the season, they had to wait 2 weeks to find out that they'd won the league. They were actually playing Everton in the final of the Liverpool senior cup when the news came through that stoke had lost to Sheffield United, making Liverpool the first post war champions. Just thought it was a nice little story to share.
