Sticking with it since i beat the champs with it, I'm not afraid to mix it up though but 2 wins on the bounce might not change it just yet

Something's wrong at Bayern. Another loss, and even the recent wins haven't been convincing.

Tactics have been found out. Needs a shake up.

Honestly was expecting anything so just threw caution to the wind.

Maybe Messi and Ronaldo aren't getting on.

I shouldve kept quiet on the 451 against better teams .

Anyway. A point gained on Bayern but slipped up again.

Remember in the original SM  world (the one i own) when i was Liverpool boss, there was one team i could never ever beat until i played a 451 defensive counter attack against them, Pretty sure it was one of LM's teams too

Its a good formation if you are the weaker side. I'd say theres a 60% chance you'll at least get a point unless the stronger team counters it with 451 too.

Italy is the place to buy CB's in SM, less exposed and great chance to rise. Meanwhile Stones and Laporte sit on 90s playing for a top City Side every week.

Stones and Laporte haven't been reviewed yet though, I imagine both will rise. Manolas was unlucky not to rise at the end of last season, made up he's finally made it to 92.

They'll both go to 91, 2 below Koulibaly and 1 below Skriniar and Manolas, which isn't a fair reflection.

They're still young though. If they keep playing well, they'll rise further. Think it's fair enough to keep them at 91 for now, it's only really this season that they've kicked it up a level. Stones was pants last season and Laporte spent a fair bit of time on the bench. The three Serie A CBs you mentioned have been performing for a bit longer.

Also think it'll be interesting to see how City's defence fares in the second half of the season, once they start going up against top teams in the Champions League. City have dominated most of their games so far this season, their defence hasn't been tested much. They're better than last season but I still think they're prone to crumbling when put under pressure.

I know, the point I'm making is that its essier to increase a rating in Italy it seems...in an easier league.

Douglas Costa drops as well. It's been a terrible review for PSV, it really has. Alex goes on about his old squad that's gonna start declining but PSV must've had more drops than Bayern in this review. We don't have the likes of Salah & Alisson waiting on the bench either.

Not really sure where to go from here.

Just astute trading. ;)

Fair I reckon. Werner and Weigl probably hit 91 too soon, Werner had a dreadful WC, for all Dortmund's exploits Weigl has barely played, and Bayern are shit atm.

They'll both go to 91, 2 below Koulibaly and 1 below Skriniar and Manolas, which isn't a fair reflection.

Stones and Laporte are still babies in CB terms, and still not particularly established in the City team. Both be 92 by the seasons end any road. If you're losing patience with your City project I'll take a couple of your CBs. Marquinhos for Maddison you say??? Deal!

Couldn't shift Mano for love nor money a year ago, whored him round everywhere! Eventually swapped him for Chiesa mmm you warm that bench Federico!

Could do with a CB. Gomez may hit 89 and Caldara will be a colossus when fit, but I could do with a CB, just putting that out there.

Pjanic though eh?

Didn't Madrid lose something like 7 games in a row when Varane was playing this season? Still rises to 94, takes the piss. He got destroyed by Diego Costa in the Super Cup as well.

You try to build a team to compete with Bayern, trade your young studs for higher rated players, but then as soon as the next review comes around half your team drops. What's the point?

Varane rising means surely Umtiti will rise aswell. Tomorrow will be interesting. You could well win the ratings depending on how things go

The whole "Bayern have an old squad that's going to decline" was a load of shite from the start. It'll only decline if he never trades again. But he just can keep trading his older players to clubs that are trying to build, like he did with the likes of Di Maria (to me) and Sanchez (to Valencia).

That's not a dig at Alex btw, perhaps I shot my load too early and should've been more patient, waiting for my younger players to develop. But I traded for a team that would've been good enough to challenge for titles in most worlds, but in this one we're not even close. And now after all this building we're moving backwards, half my first XI has dropped, and we're even further from challenging.

Thinking it was a mistake to re-join this world to be honest, the gap between the top teams (not just Bayern) and the rest is way too big. I owe a few teams players from trades that have already been agreed, gonna stay on until those go through and then I'll re-evaluate.

I never said my team would decline immediately with these ratings, rather meant that these ratings are the ratings where that process begins. The average age of my starting lineup is 30, and I've only got 3 under 30 year old players starting for me. Yes, I got a few players who will replace some of those nicely, like Varane who has now essentially replaced Boateng's old rating, but I don't have replacements for everyone. It's just inevitable that my team's ratings will drop off during these next few ratings reviews from their peak. Most of my players are only going one way in the long run. Don't see how that's not true. Think with me losing Ronaldo the league should be quite competitive next season. This season has already showed even the best team the gameworld has probably ever seen (in terms of players/ratings) isn't unbeatable at all.

Maybe I'm biased but I don't think Varane rising to a 94 rating is particularly unfair. 4 CL titles and a WC. He's certainly proven at the highest level of the game. Haven't seen Real this season much, but I always thought these ratings were a cumulative thing where a player rises to a rating indicative of his quality over time. If it was just based on this season or current form then the ratings would be even more of a mess than they are now.

It's the inconsistency that gets me. I don't mind Varane being 94. But if they're going to give him a rise when he's been pants since the summer, why drop Diego Costa for having a slow start to the season? He's been one of the best strikers in the world for years now and is still starting every week for one of the best teams in the world. Give him until the end of the season and if he's still not doing well, drop him then. Same with Douglas Costa who was Juve's best player last season, but has been unlucky this season with Juve changing formation to accommodate Ronaldo. It's so demotivating trying to build your squad up only to get shafted time and time again.

Your next decline is half a year away. A real decline is years off when they only adjust ratings twice a year. You're looking at Modric rising and possibly Casemiro, and Ramos and Marcelo staying. If that pans out you will be like a pig in muck ;D
If it was just based on this season or current form then the ratings would be even more of a mess than they are now.
But annual rating changes are supposed to be based on the form between the last ratings review and the current review which are done end of and the middle of a season so they're supposed to be on the current season
