I like taking them apart and putting them back together for fun (not so free these days), and if you have a reasonable idea of what you're doing, you could just get a 2nd hand car for its chassis, frame and some parts and build yourself (as long as you have the right contacts) a solid machine on the cheap that will give you years. The mechanics of it is interesting, for me.
There are plenty of men who treat a car better than their wife though! Exceptional obsession to the aesthetics, to the factsheets, get hurt over every scratch and dent haha. I find that a bit weird too. You get that attached to anything, it can't be healthy when they get damaged, as daily usage cars usually do.
Fair enough mate. They're just not for me.
Personally, I can appreciate good design, and asthetics, but ultimately don't get the swooning over a tin box on wheels.
I get it that some would, fair enough, each to their own and all that, but ultimately for me, they're just a utilitarian instrument of transportation.
I guess I'm just the odd one out in this thread.
