Genius and ended at the right time

Also - have you seen the DVD of the stage show?

They both went in high, that's factually correct, both tried to play the ball at height.  Doku with his foot, Mac Allister with his chest.

No.

Simple as that. It's the best sketch show ever, the sketch show to end all sketch shows.

I was going to post it when I saw the mary whithouse experience thread (got me thinking of paul ;) )

The best sketch was one where Mark Williams played the ukelele (ala George Formby) and then did songs with swear words in.  I've only ever seen it the once when it was first on.
"And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains."

Stuff like the Fast Show seems more dated because it was so good at the time and has been ripped off by everyone. Smack the Pony was always shit so nobody copied it.

Nice one Andy, I was going to start a 'Fast Show' thread but I should have known
you would have got in there first ( Mr. Threadstarter  )

The 'Fast Show' was/is the best sketch show I've ever seen.
The fact that so many catchphrases got into peoples vocabularies
so quickly is testament to the success of the show,
Paul Whitehouse is a comic genius imo.

The Harry Enfield Show was also top notch at times, I've been enjoying the
re-runs on UKTV.

I watched last night, laughed my tits off at the very topical sketch of the Arsenal daytripper fan who sat with a picnic basket and knew fuck all about football, I can think of more than a few times I've seen similar at Anfield in the last couple of years.

Well Paul, hanging wallpaper is also very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Clean all the relevant surfaces, spread her out on the table, cover her with paste, and stick her up. Then you clean your brush, light your pipe, stand back and admire your handiwork.

The show is great because of the strength of performers they had, all the cast are superb.

Here's a quick run through the characters:

Very good show, although many of the characters were over done I reckon. The 'suits you sir', 'this season I will mostly be wearing..', Ted, etc., all were funny the first one or two times, but got old too quickly.

One of my favs (I don't know if this has been posted already) is the dad playing cricket with his sons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkhpnrGBTRc
