He probably could but would he want to?

For me that would be like caging a tiger, cruel and unnecessary.

Yeah, he may not want to. I was only half serious btw, as I know it's not that very probable  :) He's in a different job now, so..

I tried to warch it through LFCtv on my laptop in Argentina, but it blocked me because of the country...that seemed odd. So I checked the television and it was on friggin TV in Argentina with local commentary. What a treat.

Why was this only 80 minutes long? I'm sure it was the full 90 when I went last year.

I thought that, I didn't notice at HT, must have not been concentrating, but when the commentator said Gerrard had scored a last minute winner I thought he was going mad!

How does Salif Diao get into these games? And how awkward must it be when he sees Stevie and Carra considering what they have said about him in the past?

Went to Anfield to see this yesterday, absolutely loved it. Was a joy to eventually see Pirlo in the flesh, obviously not what he was, but still some lovely little touches. And my 10 year old nephew was absolutely thrilled to see Steven Gerrard score. Can't wait for next year's.

They missed Gerrard scoring, I'm in their bad books. He'd better score next year.

Gonna be great in a few years when it is the likes of Reina, Torres, Suarez, Masch etc.

That's if they choose to play for us.  Torres and Reina might but not sure the other 2 would choose us over Barca.

to be fair they’ve never slagged him off in the way they did with Diouf, pretty sure they had no real issue with him as a person/teammate, more just his ability

Yeah it was, I thought. I was in the Kop (Block 305), quite up near the back, loads of singing (mainly the Ste Gerrard song, and When The Reds, although there was a quick round of Allez Allez Allez as well), everyone got a decent round of applause apart from Owen, and even then the booing was a bit panto, and the AC Milan lads got a nice reception, especially Pirlo who seemed to get a round of applause every time he touched the ball.

As the tickets are a fair bit cheaper it's a nice way for kids to get into going to the match. It was my nephew's third time at Anfield - first time was last year's Legends match, and then his dad managed to get tickets for Fulham at home this season - and although it's obviously not as frenzied as a League or CL match, it's always busy and a good distraction from the International Break bollocks.

Not sure of the exact figure but they said on lfctv that it was sold out.

Great day, the players on both sides seemed scared to shoot for some reason, esp considering they couldn't run very far! Perhaps they simply don't have the power in their legs anymore. Stevie was guilty of it a few times, think he only had 2 shots on goal. I guess it means he was efficient as he scored from one!

Have to say, Pirlo still looked class, his pass range is still there and was probably the best player on the pitch.

Was a great crowd though there wasn't much singing, I guess because of the number of young families in attendance.

Why was this only 80 minutes long? I'm sure it was the full 90 when I went last year.
Still trying to work this out, not sure why shaving 5 mins from each half would make a big difference - normally they make more changes in these games.

Have to say, FSG have done a splendid job inside the Main Stand, can't believe this was the same place with the cramped concourse and about 2 urinals! Who needs a £1Bn stadium when we have Anfield?

What on earth is wrong with people like him?

I agree with dudleyred, hopefully he gets banned from Anfield and the family he abused are invited back by the club and given a great day out as VIPs.

I know more and more of these morons have crawled out of the woodwork in recent times right across society, but I find it staggering in this day and age.

Hopefully we never see this idiot back at Anfield ever again. And no, matey, downing 8 pints is no excuse.

Imagine acting like that at a charity match of all places! It's bad enough normally but this kid's come for his first trip to Anfield and might never want to come back.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

If i was sat  near  the Malik family I would have escorted the prick myself.  No need whatsoever for that behaviour in  life but to subject a family  to that on a day out  is pure evil.  I feel ashamed that  this tool associated himself with our great  club.  I hope the club roll the carpet out for the Malik's and show them that  they  are welcome whereas the idiot is not.

Just noticed this topic had been made!  Was up for the game on Saturday as a 21st birthday treat for my daughter, had been trying to get tickets for a league game but had to settle for this - and what a treat, loved it!!  Six of us travelled up, three of whom hadn't been to Anfield before so I arranged to do the matchday stadium tour as well.

Three family members and a friend got up at half three in the morning and left home at five to get to us - left ours at six to get to Anfield nice and early for the tour.

Game was good fun to watch, brilliant to see some of the players still ooze quality - Dagger, Johnno, Garcia, Dirk, McManaman, Stevie "Shoooooooooooooooooooot" Gerrard, Hyppia, Paddy, Paddy's mate, Cisse (bless him and his busted legs for turning up here and putting in a great effort), Carragher (who provided a couple of funny moments), special mention for Mr Kennedy for getting up and down the wing at least 3 times and Mr Versatile Bjorn Tore Kvarme (wtf did I just say!!!).

For Milan, Pirlo, Cafu, Gattuso, Kaka, Rui Costa stood out.  Loved the Milan goals, sweet as, the pair of them.

Was bubbling inside at the attendance and thinking how we can fill the ground for a charity match when the playboy plastics are playing in front of empty seats against Premier and Champions League opponents - they aren't in the same stratosphere as us when it comes to how "big" a club we are.

Got home at midnight, tired but happy after a fun day - other side of the family got home at twenty past one!!  :lmao :lmao :lmao

Still need to get two tickets for any home game this season to finish my daughters birthday treat so if anyone can help out it'll be very much appreciated!

I was bought tickets as a Christmas present to a 'Meet & Greet' of former players John Barnes, Jan Molby and Neil Ruddock.

Tonight's the night (in Warrington), and as I'm likely to be tongue tied when I get to meet them, has anyone got any ideas of what I should ask the legends (and Neil Ruddock)?
