Won't mind getting to see Hoillett for 90 minutes, seems to be a lot of hype around him.
He is good and hope he doesn't play as he's their dangers man

He's a free transfer as well in the summer? Nice audition for him here then.

I really hope we hit these bastards where it hurts. They'll be riled up for the game but so will will we. Send Steve Kean packing. He's a nice guy but was always a caretaker. Dirk has to start for me.

Hope to see Carroll start.  Time to take advantage of the zillion corners we are getting.

Let's be bold and kill 'em.

Do you think he is playing well ?

Carroll for me too. We need to give him some opportunities, he looks more likely to score than most and we have to remember why we paid the money for him in the first place not that long ago.

If the lad could get a couple of goals today our season would take a serious upward turn. We are playing the bottom of the League so if we cannot give him the chance of playing and scoring today then he is getting sold in January.

I'd fancy that as well. However, I'd still like to see the pass and move style of play, i.e., many times when Carroll's on we have a tendency to start doing long balls only and we end up losing the ball too often.

Only thing I would say abot playing Carroll today is that we will need to play the ball to his feet more, Samba is a big aerial presence for them.

Reina - Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique - Adam, Spearing - Downing, Suarez, Bellamy - Carroll

This is how I would like us to line up this afternoon. Hopefully we'll se a Gerrard sub in the second half. Tbf can't see Blackburn score the way we have been defending the last couple of games. 3-0 is my bet.

I love kuyt be had a shocker against Wigan, he just lacked that bit of pace and attacking edge that we needed on the right mid.

An impact sub is a better role for him, last 20, work hard, get at people.

But for a full 90 minutes i think the wing backs are more than happy to bomb forward and not worry about kuyt behind them.

Good point that, we didn't see the best out of him at Fulham for similar reasons. I guess at the very least, playing Carroll keeps Samba away from Agger and Skrtel at our corners.

Downing started against villa?

He did, don't you remember him being given dog's abuse for 90 minutes? The Villa fans treated him as if he still were one of their own because the only 'support' they gave their own lads was dog's abuse too. And he whipped in the corner for the first goal.

Pray he does a job. These are there for the taking but could be up for it for their manager. Keep Samba occupied and make his day a miserable one.

I think that is a bit of a myth. It's only when Carra plays that we are compelled to "hit the big man".

There have been times this season when Carroll has played that we have moved the ball well and looked good. Stoke away in the League Cup in particular the first half was excellent, Sunderland at home first half, Wolves at home.

The trade off with Carroll is that we lose the extra man in midfield and so against a side that can pass the ball there is a bigger onus on Adam in midpark.

I wouldn't mind that. I want a change in approach. It's all well and good having the best defence in the league but we need to score more.

If we stop packing midfield we will concede more goals BUT we may actually score a few more aswell.

Would prefer Downing and Maxi on the wings for this one, to save Bellamy for Newcastle.

I think Spearing would offer more security but I think what we need is ball retention and technical skills against Blakburn.. they will most likely be on the defensive side for the most of this game. So Id much rather Henderson than Spearing
