Are the u23's playing tonight? If so, any streams? (no smart arse comments about rivers or anything water related please ;)

1-0. Wilson penalty. Think it was Trent who was fouled.

Klopp and Lijnders in attendance which is good to see. I would imagine there are still some decisions to be made on alot of that starting team on wheather to sell, loan or keep next season.

The real scouse Cafu shines again.

Trent tripped in the area. Harry Wilson scores the pen emphatically.

I know it' s 'just' the ressies, but I love the look of Marko Grujic.  Such a comfortable and nice first touch, some excellent passes and touches.

Lovely breakthrough from TAA och a nice pen from Wilson.

I'm a bit surprised Karius doesn't get some gametime for the U23's, not a dig at Grabara or Kelleher, both are brilliant young GK's. But Karius could use some mins.

Alexander-Arnold is dominating games from right back like McLaughlin used to. He's went from an iffy debut to now looking above this level in about a year, such a quick progression.

his debut for U23? They where talking about that, and I can't believe he only played 1 game last season for the U23, othrwise it was U18 all season! It's amazing how far he's come in just a year. First team debut and a few other apperances and training with the first team all the time.

He is real talent . He was very impressive last time out also i thought he would be on the bench yesterday.

yeah, I guess with them having the game today, they didn't put him on the bench yesterday. Great to see him getting a couple games under his belt now for the U23, been so frustrating for him I'm sure with this injury for so long.  And us quite frankly, cos I have no doubt he'd have been a very handy guy to have in the squad for much more than he has been so far this season. He's a big powerful lad too, with a really nice touch and a good pass on him.

Lovely play from Grujic. Picked out trent who'd sneaked in behind the fullback, played a low cross in, and cleared well by the chelsea lad.

Grujic is so made for English football. He's still in his shell but he's got some lovely qualities he can build upon. Delightful composure in tight spaces, I think he'll definitely get some minutes till the end of the season. Next year will be huge for him, he'll be fantastic for us imo.

watched most of the first half.

Goes without saying Trent did, he had a bit of a stormer. Marko Grujic really impressed me too, great touch, nice passing, wanting to be involved all the time. I thought Virtue had a few nice touches too, and Gomez was nice and composed, and a couple good passes too. Ojo put a shift it, so that's good to see as it seems to be an issue with some, and had a couple good runs and really good crosses no one got on the end of.

Oh yes, forgot about him. Both quicksilver.

Really enjoyed that game, don't get the chance to see much football these days.
Trent, Grujic, Gomez, all looking good. Great stuff.

If anyone's interested found the game via mobdro on lfctv.

Good to know Trent did well in front of the manager tonight. Also really pleased that Grujic impressed again. Can't wait to see him in the first team again. Virtue has done well this season pleased he did well again. Thanks for that.

yeah they won't' have done themselves any harm tonight, must be a bit of a boost knowing that he was there watching.

I'm really intrigued to see how Grujic comes along, he showed a few nice things before he got hurt, and it's such a shame that he's struggled with that injury. He's only just turning 21 next month, so still a young-un, he really seems to have bags of talent.

Thanks reddebs. Managed to catch the last fifteen minutes I noticed both Trent and Grujic were very active in it. Wilson has done amazingly this season with his scoring, both him and McAuley in the under 18's are certainly turning into immense goalscorers.  :)

I think it is only the second game he has had the time to attend in person, which is partly why he wants the academy with the first team, hence the planned move. I said as far as Grujic is concerned it would be like getting a new player all over again, he hardly had time to impress in the beginning, let's hope he has better luck now.

From an attacking POV Trent would give us more than Clyne is at the moment and I think that was the message he was sending to the boss tonight.

As for Harry, I think the message all season has been "I can be Mane's stand in boss" [emoji12]he's been phenomenal every game I've seen and his numbers are spectacular for a 19yr old playing from the wing.  Sure he's our penalty taker but he still has to score them.

yeah it is, he used to go and see BVB II play quite a bit.  It's also partly cos he feels he ends up having to sign autopgraphs and have photos taken more than watch the game, but I suspect that they can have someone making sure that does happen, he seemed to be left alone tonight!

Yeah, hopefully Grujic can get himself into a couple of the first team squads for the end of the season, and get some minutes. Be a nice option actually.
