No, the deal is already done, Liverpool own him, just a matter of getting work permit / passport sorted.

So is the permit/passport been validated yet? or is there still a chance of it been thrown out again and him still not being able to come to Liverpool in the summer?

he will qualify for a Spanish passport on residency (?) grounds, but since the club expect the procedure for him getting the passport might take a while they will also apply for work permit. at least that is how I understand it

I'm surprised you British guys are so bureaucratic. I mean AT LEAST one of the members of the FA must've seen him play sometime.

And with the same reasoning, why the hell did they let players like Toure (or even Traore) play in the Premier League?

I think he meant the way Britain deals with this stuff- i.e all the bureacracy involved. Unless you're a immigration officer, then I don't think it was directed at you   ;)

Not at all mate lol.

I was aiming my criticism at the English F.A. I mean, who are they to decide which player is fit to suit the Premier League and who is not? I've seen a number of clips of this guy and he seems pretty special. And with Zenden out I think we're missing him as cover for Kewell.

well I was a bit bemused with the you British guys bit... lol

as for the FA tribunal, they have their rules about national players from top 70 countries. the rest is a lottery. maybe government policies come into play? like in Holland where a minister seems to think she knows more about football than the national coach

Given that some premiership managers seem to be able to sign players without seeing them (Weah's cousin), I don't think it takes a lot to decide who is fit for the league and who is not, and who is worth £14m ......

With Riise, Kewell, Gonzalez, Fabio Aurelio, and Zenden, our left side will be amazingly strong next year...

Hope we have something of that quality on the right :)

Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Good question.
