Wonder if it'll be like last year when the first 4 episodes were leaked onto the net 24 hours before airing

I believe so - in the trailer for Day 8 Jack is talking to Kims little girl.
"You should call me Granddad"

Tony's dead.. but he isn't. He's bad, but he's good, but he's bad, but he's good.
Kim is fit, as is Renee.

The new President is ace, her daughter is a nasty piece of work.
Her husband can fight off and kill a secret service agent while he is drugged.

Special agent Pierce is back and at some point his arm is in a sling.

Did I miss much?? ;D

Must admit, I didn't think much of the first couple of episodes. Its becoming a bit of a parody. CTU now have a drone pilot that spends his time spying on women in bikinis. Nice. Oh, and Percy from The Green Mile as a bad guy?? I could believe he'd want to step on Mr Jingles, but a Russian terrorist is pushing it a bit

Too many new characters, hard to feel anything for anyone other than Jack and Chloe. Bubba ain't up to much as Hastings either.

Give it a few more episodes to bed the new characters in before any judgement though.

Pretty generic start to the season.  People in charge are still retards and don't listen to Jack even though he's saved the US 7+ times in the past.  When's Renee gonna show up? I demand more Rack Bauer.

I'd say thats fair

Its been a slow start. No action scene in the 2nd episode at all

I dont like the new modern CTU. Looks too modern to be realistic. I mean sliding pod doors for interrogation rooms, Palm prints for room access.

Also dont like that Chloe is at the bottom of the pile. She has been here for nearly a decade and after less than 6 months away from CTU and she now knows nothing and is being threatened with the sack.

Oh and the pervy drone operator wont last the day.

But

Ortiz is very cool (Definatly the new Curtis) and

Classic 24

Oh and you know that if Jack was dreaming about killing terrorists before he got woken up by his grandaughter he would have snapped her neck ;)

hahaha. Pretty much exaclty how I felt. I even typed the CTU looking too modern and "fae"...i then deleted that paragraph thinking "maybe it's just me"

Agree with the spoiler...it made me lol when i saw it. Classic Jack

4 episodes in and I've like it so far except for the Katee Sackhoff storyline.  Yet another CTU employee with a mysterious/tedious/unbelievable past.  Doesn't this organisation ever do background checks on it's own staff.

I know I'm going to get slammed for this, but I haven't watched previous series of 24. Always had the intention to, but never got around to it.

Can I just pick it up from the latest series? Or do I need to go back and start from the beginning.

nah u can just pick it up...just a few bits that pops up in the conversation of the actors but Ive watched all the season and I still struggle to remember.  But you might be better off catch up the previous season and by the time u finish the new season will end and you dont need to wait a week to know what happen

Jack Bauer is awesome.

I envy you-coz you're in for a treat. Personally I would start with the fantastic Season 1, Season 2 was not quite quite up there but still good, Season 5 was brilliant, then watch Season 7 as a backdrop to Season 8.

That should keep you busy :)

Watched the first 4 back to back, was a good start.  Think the blonde CTU bird is a bit of a dick, but glad that Renee Big Tits made it back.
