As well as being illegal it's just plain fucking daft. Why risk people's lives for a game of football.

Definitely.

For non-classic cars, the number of people in the car cannot exceed the number of seatbelts. The maximum number of people allowed will be stated in the log book too.

;D Yeah I've binned that idea!! Not like the old days with me and 2 of my cousins rattling round in the storage space at the back of my uncle's estate car with 5 adults in the front and back seats doing 100mph on the way to North Wales!

Can you not just take the one adult and two kids? Do they all need to have a parent with them?

You'd think so wouldn't you but one of the women (who doesn't even live near the rest of us) asked for a lift for 4 to include her 2 kids her and her husband!!

My Da told me once that 8 of them went in a car from Newcastle to Scarborough back in the 60's.

4 adults and 4 kids, 2 of them teenagers.

I don't think seatbelts were used much back then, if at all.

I remember our school minibus in secondary school (early 90s). Going to away matches on a Saturday with just a bench seat either side of the bus and no seatbelts and having 6 kids sat either side and falling all over the place everytime we went round a bend as our crazy Welsh sports teacher drove like a lunatic.

Have you any of those bungee cords mate? If so then could easily fit 4 or 5 on the roof and as long as you secure them down firmly using the bungee cords then can't see the problem.

Make sure they have a coat on in case the weather turns though, safety first as don't want them getting a cold now.

So basically she wants someone else to give up their time, petrol etc just to drive her and her family to the football? I bet they've got a car as well, just can't be arsed using it.

Should get a taxi instead

She doesn't have a car but she is a pisstaker. I felt sorry for her originally until someone else told me she'd asked for 4 spaces which is just never going to happen. Thing is, the league they joined was meant to be all local matches but there's only 7 other teams in the league, 3 of them are a 45 minutes drive away, 2 are half an hour away and the other 2 are local.

Yes, since it was a legal requirement.

Looking back now its insane that seatbelt wearing was ever optional.
