Went the game today so just saw the penalty shouts - looked like both should have been awarded. Also don't know how we got away with that pass back!

It has to be deliberate, it seems to have been judged as a failed attempt to play it off the attacker to put it out for a goal kick.

In fairness they were very complimentary about us, Ian Wright called us the best team in the world.
Wrighty's always going to be in our corner though. Been only complimentary about us these 6 or so years since he's been a regular pundit on TV.

But he'd make the shortlist

Wright has always been complimentary about us as far as I can recall. Shearer less so, but Lineker looks and sounds a bit blue around the gills.

Lineker has been seriously bitter for a while now about us. Not sure where it all started but he's the first one to question any decision in our favour this season yet never says anything when City or Harry Kane get anything.

Probably due to the realisation that we are now certain to win the league. Not only that, we don't look like a one season wonder like his beloved Leicester. It'll take some doing to usurp us in this form.

He's an odd mix, doesn't seem to hate us or try to dismiss how good we are, but loves to try and put the boot in whenever there's a decision he can pick out to do so.

They have translated from Halmstads to Malmo, to Orebo to Neuchatel Xamax, to the Swiss national team, so I find the question insulting.

The Minamino chance would have been one to include too you'd think.

On the blueshite game, they seem to weirdly rate Holgate quite highly and have been complimentary about him a few times before now, but this time they even managed to praise him for a clearance that went about 2 yards and straight to an opposition player.  :o

That's what makes the mix so odd, you'd expect him to be entirely negative, albeit not as bad as Jenas or Hoddle who are abysmally biased.

To be fair to Lineker he’s an ok bloke. Dont really mind much he says about us it’s not particularly hateful

Danny Mills is the one that’s completely weird. He would genuinely kill us all if he could get away with it, dunno what his problem is. Clearly personal

To be fair he's gone to bat on Twitter for decisions which went in our favour and everyone was fewming about.

Is it not just a slightly awkward way of saying that the players weren't claiming strongly for one?

Yeah, I was waiting to see that back too, what a goal it would have been. Seemed like hardly any actual highlights, second half just seemed to be the goals and not much else.

Pleasantly surprised to see them mention our possible penalty though.

Watching the highlights of these other matches gives me even greater respect for the ability of our team, seeing numerous decent moves that we'd expect to end up in the back of the net from ours have ended somewhere else for many other sides.

At least there was a bit more fairness and balance on the BBC about the TWO penalty shouts: Firmino and Ings. Throughout the afternoon/evening Sly Sports News only focused on the latter to push the narrative that Liverpool gets all the calls and referee favouritism. Gobshites.

You should have heard Jenas and Sherwood on BT. kept going on about the Ings decision, and Jenas went into meltdown after we went further and further ahead. BBC are making a mistake if they want him to replace Lineker. He can’t hide his bias.

Great that isn't it - I think I count 7 of their players sucked into or around our box. and then what is it? 10 seconds and 8 passes later. Superb stuff, there is a post in the AV thread of 1 touch games in training and you can see all the same skills there

I was absolutely raging at Mo getting himself offside but in fairness even then he’s still had hard work to do to score there.  The whole thing is a fabulous example of playing on the ragged edge, but with complete composure.

They're all scrambling for a story, a take or a narrative to make things interesting - pretty much been a boring season for the journos and pundits in the title race (apart from how good we've been and the records which are tumbling every gameweek), so they're all trying way too hard to find something of a talking point or discussion.

Gotta absolutely love Ian Wright, by the way. And to be fair, Shearer was waxing lyrical about us last night as well.

Jenas reckons Sterling was a yellow card.
Richard's reckons Loris pulled his arms away and Sterling didnt dive and shouldnt have a card. Then Jenas said he has to go down. Fucking wankers
