Last season we walked from the ground to Forest Gate ... took approx 25 mins and was straight up the main street, turn left at end then take first right and its on the left up the hill. REg trains to Stratford and access to central line which is open that day.

Was it really only last May when the 2 Tube lines that go to Upton Park were knackered - AND STILL ARE?

Hammersmith & City, and The District Line:

Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, suspended westbound from Barking to Whitechapel and suspended eastbound from Whitechapel to Upney. Three rail replacement bus services operate.

Service A: between Stratford and Whitechapel, calling at Plaistow, Canning Town, Bromley-by-Bow, Bow Road, Mile End and Stepney Green.

Service B: between Barking and Whitechapel, calling at East Ham, Upton Park, Canning Town, Mile End and Stepney Green (eastbound service will extend to Upney)

Service D (0900 - 2300 only): between Stratford and East Ham, calling at Upton Park

Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, suspended westbound from Barking to Whitechapel and suspended eastbound from Whitechapel to Upney. Two rail replacement bus services operate.

Service A: between Stratford and Whitechapel, calling at Plaistow, Canning Town, Bromley-by-Bow, Bow Road, Mile End and Stepney Green.

Service B: between Barking and Whitechapel, calling at East Ham, Upton Park, Canning Town, Mile End and Stepney Green.

So these are meat pies.  What kind of meat exactly?

What's the closest train station to West Ham obviously coming from up north into London?

You will this time:

http://www.whufc.com/page/News/0,,12562~1796587,00.html

I strongly recommend that anyone going by train brings a map, as you are going to have abit of a walk.

If you can get the C2C to Barking, that will probably be easiest.

Best bet is Newham General hospital, or London Road multistorey in Barking :wave

Everywhere near the ground is open streets and mostly permit, so those 2 are your best options is you want somewhere safe

I take it you've never been to East London :D

There are the nearest secure parking areas to the ground. Rest of it is just taking a chance. And like I say, most of it is resident permit anyway, so you'd just get a ticket.

The best advice I can give you guys is don't count on replacement buses. They are shite, and the traffic will be horrific in the whole area.

I would suggest going from Euston to Fenchurch Street, then getting the C2C to West Ham / Barking. Then it's only about a 20, 25 min walk.

Trying to plan upton park to stansted.

Currently looking at underground to tottenham hale/liverpool street and stansted express. As far as i remember, the upton park station is a nightmare after the game, so any other possibilities if we walk for a while to the next one ?

Any estimate for how long it will take to stansted ? Is it doable in 2-2,5 hours ?

tks

intending to catch the game in february, arriving london on 26th so which hotel is best to stay near the ground

It is a 130pm kick off and I have a plane to catch at heathrow at 8pm hence will want to arrive at heathrow around 630pm.

game ends at 330pm, i return to the hotel hopefully to arrive by 5pm , grab my bags and head to the tube , around 1.5 - 2hrs , journey and arriving heathrow before 7pm (flying to aberdeen scotland) ----   is this doable ???

anyone can recommend a hotel that will fit the schedule /plan mentioned above?

If West Ham win their carling cup semi, this wont be played. As for a hotel I have no idea. You're only 15-20 mins tube ride from central London though.

Went to Upton Park for the first time last year, bit scary coming out. We parked at the Newham hospital and there was no hassle.

Pretty sure West Ham work like that - A-Z and then AA onwards at the back, but I won't stake my life on it!

Yep - I was AB Last season and it's just under the upper tier. Decent spec as you can see the far end unlike being at the front.

The back I think - after A-Z I'm sure it goes AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, etc. Think EE might even be the back row.

I was front row 08/09. Was hard to see any of our 1st half goals but 2nd half it was decent.

Just looking at the tube for this and the district line looks a bit fucked up that day which could affect people, depending on where they're coming from.
