I have mine going that way as well. It was set up to go the opposite direction too but had to switch that off as my ipad is 32gb and my phone only 16gb so it wasn't working very well capacity wise!!

Help please people...I have just clicked 'yes' to update all the updates within App Store on my iphone4 and now I can't open my OS Mapfinder app. It opens up for about 2 seconds and then goes back to the iphone screen. Any ideas how I can get it to load ok or any way I can revert back to the app before this new update? Cheers

Have you tried closing the app (double prees on home button then swipe up) and restarting the phone (home down home and power button together for a few seconds until It turns off?

Failing that you can try deleting the app then downloading it again.

Just done all that mate and it did work briefly but all my maps had disappeared. Looked as if the app had just restored to original app. Tried again and the it didn't work again. Deleted the app, then re-sync'd it. Then it loaded, went into 'my maps' and restored all my purchases nd it worked. But now I've come out of it again and it won't load again!! Looks like I'm back to square 1.

Thanks for your advice though, it seemed to help a bit. Anymore ideas? I have sent an email to OS to get someone to help me with their app.

Have you checked if there is another update available? Sounds like they've pushed an update out which has fucked things so hopefully they'll either push another that reverts it back or fix the issue ASAP.

Just checked the app and seems they released 3.0 update on the 17th Nov, then quickly a 3.0.1 update due to issues like you describe. So make sure you've got version 3.0.1 installed.

Within the app it might say what version it is. If not if you go to settings and scroll right down there might be a bit of info there for that app.

I saw the version info on the app page in the AppStore, if you scroll down it has a tab for version history with the info.

My iphone is suggesting that I have version 3.0.1. I couldn't see the OS Maps app in Settings, so clicked on the AppStore and looked in 'purchased'. Says 'New in 3.0.1 Minor bug fixes including fixes for app crashes caused by migrating from version 2 to version 3'....typical, my has now decided to start crashing!

Email from OS Maps...

If the app appears to crash, proceed as follows:

1. Double tap the circular Home button to bring up a list of apps running in the background.

2. Swipe through the list to locate MapFinder.

3. Tap on MapFinder (the picture you can see above the MapFinder icon when in your list of running apps) to bring it back on screen.

If the app is still running in the background this won’t generate a crash report.

If the app is not in the list of running apps, select the grey Settings cog on the home screen for your device. Tap Privacy then Diagnotics & Usage and check whether you have opted to share this data with App Developers. If so, make a note of the date and time for the when the crash occurred, then email Customer Services with this information and what device/what version of iOS is installed so the developers are able to tie a particular crash report to you which they can then look at.

If the app persists in disappearing off screen the files may have corrupted in which case removing and reinstalling the app when there is access to strong, stable Wi-Fi – the important thing is to ensure that if at all possible you back up your route files because if you remove the app they will be deleted from the cloud and you will lose your planned/recorded routes for good.

I have looked in 'Privacy' and I don't have a 'Diagnostics and Usage'!!

When it says at the bottom...'removing and reinstalling the app' does that mean delete it from my iphone but keep it in itunes and then reinstall back onto the iphone or, completely deleting it from the iphone and itunes and then installing it again? I haven't got any routes planned or recorded, but I have purchased around 20 map tiles which I wouldn't want to lose or even pay for again! Cheers

I think they just mean deleting it off the phone and then downloading it again. I imagine syncing with iTunes backs up the maps.

With regards to the Diagnostics link, it should be there if you scroll down the page a little, it's the second to bottom link right at the bottom.

You then have to bring up the keyboard again to continue typing

Can't say I've noticed an iOS issue. You sure it's not an issue with Google and the predictive search thingy? As I get something similar on my Mac and it does my head in.

Having a bit of a problem with my son's Christmas present.

I got him a pair of bluetooth surround sound headphones and an iPad Air. Making up for the last few years where I've been too skint to buy him much and he hasn't complained a bit. Still thinks this year he's just getting a couple of books.

Anyway, I digress.

I wanted to have it ready for him. So I've got the headphones 'paired' to the iPad, which was a feat for somebody as thick as me. They sound great, but every 15-20 minutes the WiFi signal drops out and I have to reconnect to the Internet. The Internet also seems slower when they're connected.

During this, the headphones stay connected the entire time. It's just the WiFi that drops.

Not sure if it's the iPad, the headphones or something I've done that's at fault. Probably the last one.

Any ideas? Would be much appreciated. Cheers

First thing to check, does this happen when the headphones aren't connected? I imagine it doesn't, or at least in theory it shouldn't, but it's worth checkng.

After that your best bet for fixing the WIFI issue, if it's the ipad and not the router at fault, is to reset the network settings. I think this is under the General menu in settings.

Lads maybe I'm late to the party here but, I got a message today about and app called "World TV HD".

It's has direct links to all sports channels and more, Havnt really flicked though it all yet but it looks brilliant. Apparently Apple dot know about it yet or something (Havnt a clue?) and that's why it hasn't been taken off the App Store. So give it a look if you want. Great for iPad or iPhone. Good quality too.

Edit: This app is nuts, it has every sports channel and the quality is great. Surely this won't last this thing?

Literly the moment I saw it, I downloaded it. It won't last long, you're right. However, once it's on your phone they can't take it off. A bit like the movie apps that came along last year. They only stopped working when the servers went offline, but carried on working when the app was removed from the store.
Gone!

Re: World TV Hd
Got it on phone, if I sync phone to PC, then connect my ipad, will I be able to transfer the app to the ipad even if it's got a different Apple ID?
Both my ids are able to use the same PC.

They come along every now and then. I got one called Live Media Player last year which is excellent too, and will often have 7 or 8 streams of each major channel (inc versions from abroad).

Does anyone else have a glitch on their iPad, where after typing just one letter into google, it goes to the top as though you have finished typing?
You then have to bring up the keyboard again to continue typing

This is probably due to elements being affected by scripts and losing focus as a result so the keyboard may close automatically.

World HD TV still works fine for me anyway.

All cricket channels for the WC on it now. BT, Sky sports etc. all still working in high quality.

Dont use it too ofter but great in certain situations.

This is a post that should probably go on moneysavingexpert rather than rawk but does anyone know where best to buy an Apple ipad air2 from, before I just go to john lewis or the apple shop?

I'm an analogue man living in a digital world so am famous for overpaying for tech. I've done my best to avoid apple all my life but have had finally had to succumb due to lack of software/app support for anything apart from ios.

It's pretty much apple or bust. I've given up on android after a few buggy experiences and given up on samsung products after their reliability has gone down while their plasticity has gone up. I own a couple of companies, in building design and in manufacturing. A few certain apps I work with are only supported for ios and android, and work much better with ios.

A friend of mine told me just go with the newer chip as the updates run a lot slower on older models and that I would find 16gb way too small so looking at something larger then?
