Tibiofibular! Don't let my Kinesiology professor know I got that wrong lol!

Can't believe you got the AITFL confused with the ATFL PoP. Surely you know your ATFLs, PTFLs and CFLs apart from the rest of them? :P

I had a classmate who could never get her coronoid's and coracoid's right. Always messed them up in exams. It became a running joke because if there was a bony landmarks test and she got 99/100, say, we all guessed at which question she got wrong :D

Apparently Agger has some stomach injury, some journo in Denmark said. Can anyone confirm?

As for Coutinho, Henry Winter said he feels slight pain in shoulder and will have a scan.

Quote
Coutinho was later seen leaving the Liberty Stadium with his arm in a sling.

Rodgers explained: ‘Philippe will have a wee scan. As for Daniel, It’s too early to say whether he will be fit for Saturday. He had a real freak incident in the gym. Just before he was coming out to train, he overstretched trying to prevent a dumbbell falling on his foot.

'He has overstretched and yanked his side. We are waiting to see if that settles dow over the next few days. If it doesn’t, we have got ample replacements. That is why we brought in extra players. ‘

Injury update: Jan Molby did a warm fart on danish TV and recieved 14 marriage proposals.

Coutinho has found a shoulder to cry on..

Moses has been told to go on a scouse diet, 2 pans of scouse a day at least.

Shelvey has got a big head and things he's Steven Gerrard.

And Rodgers has an attack 2nd halfitis...yet again.

The slow-mo reply shows him slightly deflecting the ball with his upper left thigh and then re-extending his leg to ensure that he whacked Coutinho's midsection and 'groin' area to ensure he wouldn't reach the ball which he (Williams) had failed to really block.

Exactly how what HE did is equivalent to what Lucas (and Shelvey) and Henderson and Wisdom did subsequently such that all of them deserved the same 'caution' is a bit beyond me.

It's absurd and disgraceful that having your foot that high, intentionally and dangerously, to hurt another player isn't an automatic red card. It's also despicable that the vast majority of media outlets refuse to run such opinions.

I'm sure Williams believes that intentionally injuring another player is not as bad as name-calling, right?  Especially really bad, bad, bad name-calling.  Seems to be the case.  He must really hate Brazilians.  Right?

I hope Alberto has impressed enough last night for Brendan to start trusting him more. I'll be really annoyed is Brendan continues to ignore him for PL games.

Terrible news, but hopefully Luis Alberto can come in and shine. Suarez is also back in a couple of games.

Looks like he will miss the following fixtures though:

Sept 21 - vs Southampton
Sept 25 - at Man Utd
Sept 29 - at Sunderland
Oct 5     - vs Crystal Palace

And doubtful for these (as well as round 4 of the cup should we beat Man utd):
Oct 19 - at Newcastle
Oct 26 - vs West Brom

Not the worst run of fixtures for him to miss as we should still be able to win these games, especially with Suarez back. As with Sturridge it seems the international break is working to our advantage, and it must have been a consideration when management and doctors decided to have a procedure on his shoulder.

Pissed that Williams didn't get sent off, but I guess we'll get our chance for retribution in the return leg at Anfield Feb 22nd :-)

I know they're not difficult games, but these are must-win for us. These are the games where we should be racking points up. So it's even more important if all our best players are available for these games.

Just a little update for tomorrows game

Currently the confirm Injuries and not playing vs Southampton are:-

Coutinho - Shoulder injury
Johnson - Ankle injury
Sissokho - Ankle injury

Seems like Agger and Allen are fit enough to start from all the chatter at the southampton pre match thread.

Terrible news, but hopefully Luis Alberto can come in and shine. Suarez is also back in a couple of games.

I think that we have really strengthened up our front line.  We got Alberto, Aspas, Moses, Sterling and Ibe all ready to step in.  And that is not counting our top scorer who will be back soon.  Things are looking up and hope that we keep our injuries to a minimum.

We are really unlucky so far that all our injuries have come in games and not in training. Maybe that shows that our training is done in a smarter way and the results are already showing with Gerrard and Agger playing a good number of games without getting injured.

The Alter-G machine allows you to run at reduced body weight. It's an anti-gravity machine and you can tune it in to reduce your body weight by as much as is needed compared to the stage of your injury. It allows 2 things. 1 - it allows you to keep up some of your fitness while you're still out injured. 2 - more importantly, when you get an injury to a ligament the scar tissue lays itself down in a haphazard fashion, whereas normally tissue is laid in a very organised fashion giving it its tensile strength. Scar tissue realigns itself through the stress that's put through the tissue, so by providing lines of stress through the tissue that's being laid down it allows the scar tissue to align itself a lot quicker and a lot stronger.

I've been on an Alter-G machine. It's amazing ;D
