Yeah, the same Manchester United who thumped Fulham last week. - Remember them? the team we played at home with Fabio at LB and managed to keep them to 0-0.......

What a genius comparison that is.  ::)
So in your opinion we didn't beat Fulham because of Aurelio being in the team and keeping a clean sheet.
Oh that's right he should have been up front in his favoured striker's position I suppose
according to you.

Fact is, Arbeloa was out for a few games and we really felt it. Aurelio was out for a few and we barely noticed.
Having a couple of full-backs as cover for Aurelio, whilst only having Degen and Darby (who were both injured) and Carragher, who doesn't want to play at full-back, may have something to do with that...
AHA!

Like I have often said, he’s the ‘good’ china that can’t be used too much or else it gets worn out and loses its shine. Cracks, so to speak.

how we have fallen....now we are happy to settle for a player who can play 50% of the time, and badly in 20% of those matches because he is recovering from not playing in the other 50% of games.....mind boggling!

Something quaint and witty.

No, No. just following your logic in that because Aurelio was playing against Utd the last time we beat them. Not in spite of him....Although didnt Utds goal come from an attack down Aurelios side?

Yeah. Carragher failed to close down Berbatov and Masch/Arby didn't track the runner.

No, if you had any brains at all you'd realise that I was refuting your ridiculous point about seeing what he's made of facing a team with width etc.

Yawn. Fact is against Madrid and Chelsea recently they offered little out wide. we are now playing Utd at home where they have ronaldo et al to attack us out wide rather than ballack or marcello. What is ridiculous about that?

Arbeloa played just as well against both teams yet Aurelio comes out with the plaudits?

Yeah. Carragher failed to close down Berbatov and Masch/Arby didn't track the runner.

Dont think it was a fuck up really. But the goal came down Aurelios side all the same......For further examples of the best LB around look at the CL game at home last season against Arsenal.

Chelsea started with the in form wingback Bosingwa playing behind Deco on the right.
Just to refresh your memory, they played with Mikel and Lampard in front of the back four, Malouda on the left, Deco on the right side with Kalou behind Anelka.

V Arsenal ....Aurelio was at fault how exactly? For the Diaby goal where he burst past Carragher and beat Reina on his near post with a powerful well placed shot or because you
think he should've taken Walcott down when he was breaking?

So let's get this straight your logic is unless our left back is facing a Ronaldo every week 'out wide' then he can't possibly be considered a good player? Does the same go for Arbeloa?
Or is it just Aurelio bashing you're obsessed with?
Arbeloa played well against Madrid but Aurelio was outstanding and showed up all
over the pitch.

Suggest it?? Isnt that exactly what happened after the first madrid game? Didnt Insua start against sunderland? why then is it unbelievable to suggest that he wont start the next game? i think its quite plausable.
Plausible, yes, probable, no.

That was a different matter. First, Insua is not in the CL team, so he's fresh. That's the same now, but we are not playing Sunderland, you know. The Mancs may be a bit more difficult to play against, and you need experience for that. I'm not saying Insua shouldn't play, but he won't be a first choice if Fabio's fully fit. If the game tunrs in such a way that we need to throw caution to the wind, we may use him, but I can think of other better options.

If you can find 20 percent of games that he has played badly in, Azer, I will be amazed. I only remember one or two standout bad performances from him in all the time he's been here.  He's never been below a five or six, IMHO

If he is injury prone then we have to deal with that. It's being dealt with. He is being given as much of a 'rest period' as he needs and that works, for the most part. It's also the reason why we have a squad, so that players can be rotated. It's fact that some players will need more rest than others. Every human being is built differently.

I, for one, simply appreciate having a very, very good player who offers us a lot when fit to a player who might play one hundred percent of games at a below par level.

You work with what you've got. We've got an excellent, technically gifted player with a beautiful left foot and if we can only play him in some games then so be it.

Let me guess, though. You'd rather have Riise back, the ever-fit, ever present yet considerably less talented Riise who might be able to run until the cows come home but can't give us half as much as Aurelio gives us.

Simple fact is, you're clutching at straws. What did he do, bang your wife? Steal your dog?

Great attitude as well, he's got. That must really piss you off because you can't slag him off for that.

He's a manipulative bastard. Another deliberate attempt to put pressure on people in the game, which he thinks he'll get away with because of his "standing" in the game and his fucking knighthood.

MOM for me, even though I really wanted to give it to Torres for making vidic look secondrate. Immaculate both defensively and going forwards against the world player of the year and capped it off with a terrific goal. Simply the perfect fullback performance.

I admit I have been anticipating Insua making the leftback spot his own this season as he just seems a great talent who will only get better and fabio never having been fit enough to really be reliable. But the way Aurelio has been playing of late, the argie will just have to bide his time. Immense.
