Introducing LFC's new social media site
« on: January 12, 2011, 12:47:21 pm »
Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce the launch of 'The Kop' - our brand new social media platform giving you the chance to interact with fellow fans all over the world.

The Kop is the place on the official website where you can share photos and videos, write blogs, collate news feeds and comment on and share content with each other.

We hope this site will bring all the passion and wit of the real Kop online and we'd love you to get involved.

We'd like you to raid your photo libraries and post your favourite LFC images or you may have some suitable video clips to upload. Some of you may even want to start a blog about supporting LFC or transfer over an existing blog so more fans in The Kop can read your thoughts on all things Red.

To join the Kop click here, visit http://thekop.liverpoolfc.tv/page/the-kop.html?as=173471 click 'Join Now' and create your own personal profile. If you're already a Registered User on the official Liverpoolfc.tv website, simply login and you'll very quickly be posting.

Enjoy.

Great idea, but got big competition trying to compete with other platforms such as Facebook and RAWK.

I'd rather stick with RAWK thanks, larger percentage of real footy fans and genuine match goers with considered opinions.

Hopefully people don't see this as an alternative to Rawk, Raotl, TLW or any of the other independent sites. This should be complementary, particularly if you have LFC content you want to share with a large audience.

There's lots of aspiring writers for instance both on Rawk and elsewhere. You could copy your articles into a Blog on the Kop and get them seen by a wider audience, maybe even featured on the Official LFC site.

Likewise the photoshop wizards at work in the Art Vandelay thread. Some of that stuff has me in stitches but stuck within a forum post it's difficult to discuss or readily track down again. Uploaded as images into a growing portfolio of LFC photos however and it can be easily shared and reach a much bigger audience.

Be very interested in any feedback that you have on this.  :wave

Well, I don't know what it is, but there's definitely something going on upstairs

A little miffed that it took my old .TV name across! I adopted RedMarko on just about every other site I joined afterwards but took Marko9 there...

I would prefer a fan site to be independent. But as Armin said; it can be complementary.
Since I am only on RAWK to get unbiased news and have a chat with fellow fans; I guess I won't be signing up any time soon.
Would love the 19th more and more trophies; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

I will just use it to upload any videos and pictures I may take when I start going to matches again. (Which is now link to when I get a job)

Maybe some of the blogs maybe good to read.

I can't see it hitting sites like RAWk just like Twitter hasn't.

After all the Forums just take you to the official ones which you need  E-season to post on like always.

Will The Kop become E=season only once the Beta ends?

Who are fast disappearing

I know what you mean, but lets face it, like I said, theres a greater portion of real fans on RAWK compared to anywhere else. Running a forum like this, its a difficult job to maintain high quality considering the volume. I think the Mods do a great job considering.

You never know, a lot of the Trolls on here who post bile to increase their post count might fuck off now if they've got a new toy to play with!

Credit to the club though, its the way to go, if a little overdue, but more for global appeal. I joined the official LFC.tv group on Facebook, 99% of the comments were just clueless ad quite comical.

To me, the most important part of this is just the fact that it is being created.  Its another measure of how the club is improving, trying to expand its reach and influence and be as cutting-edge as possible.   :thumbup

Transfer Rumour - The Kop is looking to transfer 6 mods from RAWK and are currently in negotiations with their agents.  3 are said to be ready to go but the remainder are holding out for various things including salaries, length of contract and apparantly free match tickets!  RAWK responded to the press speculation saying that 2 mods are priceless, 3 can go for a million each and if The Kop ask nicely they'll consider throwing the final mod in on a BOGOFF!!

Is that another of Comolli's ideas, to replace the 6 fired scouts with 6 RAWK mods? Good think he's not scouting the transfer thread as Ливерпул will be our chief scout, and Fowler help us!

Yeah I know a lot of the posts don't even make sense.

It might be a link to some injury news or somerhing and you might have some clueless idiot just post "whooo go Liverpool" or something.... its like yeah, thanks for that contribution :)

Horrible design, whoever did it.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.
