He has apparently gone to Real Valladolid

Maybe Enrique was saying he was staying with us, as he was unable to go out on loan/transfer. English isn't his first language remember.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Brendan must really not like this guys attitude. We are really short on squad numbers and he's looked promising this preseason. It's one thing if we got Demspey and another striker but as things stand we are really short.

Sterling  Gerrard  Assaidi
 Cole     Shelvey  Pacheco
            Suarez
             Borini

That doesn't seem overkill even if we have Downing play predominantly as a winger.

Given the lack of depth up front after not getting anyone in during the transfer window, I think Pacheco might actually get a chance if he stays with us.

Glad he hasn't been loaned out we need him.  He could get a few games in a red shirt and hopefully with BR he can develop in to a good player for us..

Sounds like he's still at the club but not in Rodgers plans at all. Better option than Cole but then that's not saying much as you'd hope Cole never plays another minute more for the club.

Telegraph just being sloppy. He's still at Liverpool.

He has been training with the first team. Rodgers just obviously doesn't rate him much.

Didn't the loan fall through?

Actually thought the most interesting thing in that piece was the reluctance to invest, but it's for another thread.

Still ours then. Strange situation this, literally one injury up front and we may need to use Dani, yet we've tried to get rid of him too?

Maybe some people will finally understand the point I've been making, that "good enough" is dependent on squad context. If you're really strong in an area, you can afford to set the bar higher. If you have nothing else in an area, then whatever you have is by definition good enough, unless you plan to play without that type of player. Purslow, of course, thought a football team doesn't need left backs when he tried to get rid of our only senior LB.

maybe that's why Cole is still here and Pacheco is being shifted out on loan.doesn't look like rogers rates Pacheco at all judging by way he treats  sterling and Morgan.

I reckon you're not only the one feeling the same way. As bad as he may be, maybe due to his attitude, surely he can't be worse than Joe Cole?
And I would reckon he would be familiar with Rodger's system no? I just don't get it.

i think this is the critical issue. Even when he went to Atletico they farmed him out to another club who also didn't play him. They can't all be wrong.

About sums it up, Valladolid clearly did not want him that badly as they failed to free space up for him. Norwich, Madrid same story, that's before we talk about Liverpool managers.

Comparison with Cole who has been around the game for a while, achieved things, commanded fees, etc. is a bit irrellevant. Rodgers would have been more than happy to offload him but couldn't.

Neither are likely to be part of the long term future but I really think that Brendan will look to what he has referred to as his development players (which it appears that Pacheco is not part of). Things are going to be hard enough for the manager, its about supporting  the teams he puts together.

Look at it another way. If we had Pacheco rather than Cole playing the part of bit part forward, we'd have saved enough in wages to be able to afford Dempsey, the manager's first choice target.

I thought I did say that the manager was trying to offload Cole but failed to do so, so not sure what I'm looking at in another way. The manager wanted Cole off the wage bill, no doubt.

I just don't think he sees Dani in his development plans, ie developing into a Liverpool player. Dani may change that but for me its looking very unlikely. That said, unlike most on here, I have no experience of identifying strengths in young players and developing them into top class footballers.
