DAVID Ngog has already got his eye on emulating countryman Nicolas Anelka and sinking Manchester United at the Reebok.
The Frenchman, who signed from Liverpool in a £4million deal on transfer deadline day, hopes to hit the ground running in next week's derby.
The last man to score a winner against the Reds in front of the Wanderers fans was Anelka back in November 2007, and having been often compared to the former Whites favourite, Ngog would love to do something similar when the two sides meet next Saturday evening.
“If I can score my first goal next weekend then that would be great, especially against a big side, but getting a result for the team is more important,” he said.

N'Gog remembers the good days, like when he scored in the last minute to seal the game against United at Anfield in 10'.

Recap ? I hope so too.

I caught the last 5 minutes and he was playing so I assume he came on as a substitute.

Andrea Dossena

Will never remember why I got 'Dossena 2' on the back of my shirt that season, but how many other LFC left backs can say they scored against United and Real Madrid?  Now plays for Napoli.

Rumours, so not going to believe it till Babel confirms it on Twitter ;) but this is an extract from the BBC :

Quote
Former Liverpool frontman Ryan Babel has blamed the Anfield club's training regime for his poor form in England. The 24-year-old scored just 12 goals in his four years with the Reds and was sold to Hoffenheim in January.

Also, the source is TalkSport so wait before we have a go at him.

And Raul saying we broke a 'promise', article of the BBC here

Quote
New Chelsea signing Raul Meireles has accused former club Liverpool of a broken promise and forcing him to submit a transfer request.

The Portugal midfielder swapped Anfield for Stamford Bridge in a £12m deadline-day move just a year after joining the Reds from FC Porto the previous summer.

And the 28-year-old explained: "All I have to say is I had one promise at Liverpool which wasn't fulfilled."

He added: "Liverpool asked me to hand in a transfer request, that's normal."

Rumours have circulated that Liverpool promised Meireles a 100% pay rise if he impressed in his first season in the Premier League, a rise that was never forthcoming despite the playmaker making 35 appearances and scoring five goals.

Meireles revealed upon signing for Chelsea that he had never wanted to leave Anfield and that he would eventually explain why he had done so.
But even at his official Chelsea unveiling on Monday, the Portugal international was reluctant to reveal details.

Referring to his claim of a broken promise, Meireles said: "It's not the only thing to blame. But that's why fans are unsure why I left."

Refusing to discuss his relationship with Reds boss Kenny Dalglish, he added: "I was aware that Liverpool wanted to sell me in the summer, which was a bit surprising to me.

"There's no point touching this subject any more.

"I was a bit surprised, but now I'm just concentrating on my present and future, and that's with Chelsea."

Meireles - who has been reunited with former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas - was delighted to have ended up at Stamford Bridge, telling the press conference: "When Chelsea showed interest, it was like a golden opportunity.

"I'm here now, it's a new adventure, and I want to do well here.

"I worked under Andre for one month at Porto, so I felt that there's the same mentality here as there was at Porto - the desire to win competitions and trophies. With Andre, we can do that.

"In one month, it was enough to see how he works and his desire to win things. So it wasn't hard to make the decision to come to Chelsea."

Torres is probably regretting leaving us, but imagine Torres on form like he was before we sold him to Chelsea, and Suarez up front together that would be one deadly combo.

Fernando could have had a hat-trick yesterday but he proved his 50m value with an assist.

Anelka played for Chelsea as well.

Raul was poor yesterday as well.

Masch's Barcelona drew their match 2-2.

Djimi Traore's Marseille kept a clean sheet against Olympiacos.

Benayoun had a good match in Arsenal's 1-1 draw.

Players to feature to today : Alonso, Arbeloa...

Didn't know Djimi had signed for Marseille! Chance to get another Champions League medal!  ;)

We can still say 'Djimi Traore have won more European Cups than whole of London.'
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him (Jurgen Klopp) as the next Liverpool manager

Met him at Liverpool airport arrivals 6 months before he left, but was alot of noise he was going to be off.

had a good chat with him, he was made up cos his wife was over from Rome - didn't think it was too funny when i asked if the flowers were for me though.

Still convinced Insua should have stayed, i never had a bad word to say about him - i must have been missing something big time because he was 20 and in my eyes hardly had a bad game.

I agree, he was 20, had lots of time to develop at Melwood. We let go of him too early.

He should have been given two or three more year.
