Hahaha, that was hilarious. Jack gets stabbed in the stomach, immediately pulls the knife out and throws it right in someone throat from about 10 foot away. Classic Jack. The rest of the episode was boring though.

The Starbuck storyline is taking up far too much time

Was thinking the hour was boring, and then Jack pulls a blinder out of the bag. Brilliant and, indeed, classic Jack.

Even Jack Bauer needs help sometimes

Sutherland forced to halt '24' filming

24 has been forced to halt filming after Kiefer Sutherland suffered a ruptured cyst.

The cyst near Sutherland's kidney reportedly ruptured earlier this week, but production continued until Friday without him.

The actor, who plays Jack Bauer in the drama, is now preparing to have minor surgery. However, filming on the show is expected to begin again within a week.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Sutherland's publicist said: "While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and Fox decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps. He looks forward to returning to work next week."

Meanwhile, in a statement Fox said that they support Sutherland's decision to take a break.

"We are temporarily suspending production of 24 while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure," the network said.

"We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season's episodes."

Why are you annoyed that a show is still filming the final episodes while you are watching the first ones? What difference does it make?

Surely it's a good thing for them to have the ability to fix things that aren't working as well as they thought they would?

I'm sure the season long story is outlined before they start filming but say if a character isn't working out they could write them out a bit earlier than planned and have other characters do they things they should have.

Yep they could, I suspect I'm right about this on Lost but wrong about it on 24 - the silly Dana sideline story being binned as a result of viewer feedback would be great if that happened, for example.

Lost has done it a couple of times. They killed off Nikki and Paulo early when they saw the voracity of the (unfair IMO) backlash from the fans, they had planned to gradually introduce them as main characters. I think they binned Mr Eko earlier than planned because the actor wanted to quit.

I hope the Dana storyline goes soon, it seems like they can't drag it out for much longer anyway...

Not sure that audience voting is the way to go on drama series ? I doubt viewer opinions have much to do with it unless they feel they are going to really affect rating significantly. My money would be on it being trying to keep the story under wraps for as long as possible, otherwise we could have ant and dec declaring at the end of each show.

Press the red button for Jack to escape his kidnappers in the next show
Press blue to see Renee killed
Press green to see Renee and Dana in a steamy scene
Press Yellow ... well you get the idea !

The side story is complete bollocks. Some bint is more concerned about her relationship with her boyfriend than weapon grade nuclear rods, that are in the hands of some Russians and, potentially, some Islamic terrorists.

And said boyfriend is trying to get these rods back.

Awful side plot.

How the hell did she get the job in the first place.  Thought it was an alright episode, but still the worst opening 3rd of a season so far.

Getting better, although I was a bit confused as to why Jack's body isn't covered in scarring and stuff. Didn't Renee see some last season? Or was that just on his back.

Anyway, after 8 seasons his body should look like a train wreck.

His back I think, from what the Chinese did to him.

Only just watched the latest episode. This show is seriously going down the pan - can't see there being a 9th season unless things pick up pronto. I'm losing interest fast - the only remotely interesting parts are with Bauer. Everything else is just dull

this season has been so poor thus far. easily the worst overall (so far), fast losing interest and can barely keep attention during episodes

hope it picks up

Just seen episode 9, I think I called all the 'twists' before they happened.  Problem is they've done it all before.  New characters but pretty much the same situations.

And who let Freddie Prinze Jr copy the Sam character from Supernatural?

I don't think it's the characters, so much as the piss poor scripts! The whole series so far has just felt like a badly cobbled together version of every other season we've already seen!

I like the freddie prinze jr charecter. Could definatly be the new Curtis.

I agree that Aaron Pierce should be brought back but I'm sure he'll be back in the next few episodes anyway (presidents daughter should feature in the next arc IMO).

Its been a very predictable and scrappy 9 episodes so far that have felt rushed and forced which is a shame. Hopefully now that Kiefer Sutherland is back from his visit to hospital the season can really kick on.

Thought I'd seen him before.

Thought it was a joke when Hassans brother decides to jump up and run just 10 seconds before Jack got there. Pretty pathetic really. Also loved the way the bomber got away so easy, apart from Jack the rest of the brigade are a pretty useless bunch.

The suicide bomber stuff was pretty good I thought, seemed like old school 24. When they named the new CTU field guy a couple of episodes you just know he is going to die soon.

The Arab Jason Schwartzman was amazingly stupid though, I do like it when Jack kicks off at paramedics because the person they are treating is dying, heh.
