What a sport. *That* leg will genuinely go down as one of my favourite sporting moments outside of football, absolutely brilliant. Feel for MVG but really pleased for Smith. No doubt MVG will have his name on the trophy again soon enough.

Brilliant from Smith to get over the line, delighted for him. The best darts player to watch when he is in a rhythm, he is so natural. First of. Any world titles hopefully.

That 9 dart leg by the way will never, ever be topped for either quality or drama - it’s was pure darts theatre at its best.

Think that’s what made MVG start to lose his form a bit. Funny if MVG went 4-2 up things might have been different but Smith was quality

What a fantastic spectacle that was last night. My lad gutted MVG didn't win it but Smith held it together. If it had gone 6-5 that would have been interesting.

That 9 dart leg will never be bettered in a long, long time.

Looking forward to the PL in Leeds now.

To be honest, no. I stopped bothering with manager interviews years ago. I understand he was on about the third goal but meh.

The final yesterday was strange.

MVG kind of lost the match. Go 4-2 up I don't think Smith wins.

Smith got in MVG head by just not going around and putting pressure on him.

Credit to Smith but MVG lost that match himself in my mind.

MVG would likely have won the set and gone 2-0 up too if Smith would've missed that double 12 for the 9 darter. Could imagine mentally that being tough on Smith and would've let Van Gerwen play with some freedom.

Mad to think if Van Gerwen had have hit that 9 darter we'd never know what Smith would have done with his. 6 perfect darts and wouldn't have even got the chance to throw a seventh

Cazoo no longer sponsor the Ev, not sure if it was a 1 year deal or Cazoo fucked them off, the Ev's main sponsors now are a betting firm.

I had Luke Humphries over Dobey but the rest were what I had down

Must be pretty gutting for Humphries but no TV finals in 2022 whereas Dobey just won the Masters

yeah humphries might want to try actually winning some big games on the telly. I'm not entirely sure what clayton has done in the past year to get in but maybe they wanted a non-gobshite welshman.
