I think that was Guivarch. Makes Dugarry and Djorkaef look like Messi.

Stephane couldn’t Guivarch-it what you think mate, he’s got a World Cup Winners medal.

You’re right though!

I think he scored past us for Newcastle.

Dugarry played when they won in 1998.

And didn't do much...

It was Guivarch who started as number 9 for them, played in all the games, even the final, and never looked like scoring. Infact he never ever scored a goal for france in a competitive game, and was never picked after the world cup.
Dugarry had a decent impact in comparison.

dugarry scored in game one in that world cup against south africa then did his hamstring in game two against saudi arabia but from what i remember french fans hated him, bbc were in some french bar during second match and said a big cheer went up when he was injured

cant remember how much guivarch played but he was useless, think he missed a good few chances in the final not that it mattered a whole lot

dugarry i think came back in final as a sub

good comparison with guivarch and serginho, i would throw fred in the mix too

2014 he was horrific. he was that shitty kid in the playground who stood next to the goal all game and thought he was brilliant he robbed one from a yard

I remember Dugarray being a bit crap at Euro 96 and not doing much at the World Cup. He signed for Birmingham and to my surprise turned out to be quite decent.

Who thinks they can get this
Very tough

- I scored goals in English football in the 1980s.
- I scored for my country.
- I scored 2 hat-tricks in the same year once.
- At 2 consecutive clubs, I had a goal per game ratio.
- I was capped by my country in 2 different decades.
- I was left out of my country's World Cup squad and sadly never won another cap.
- Weirdly, my first cap was also in a World Cup year.
- I was at 2 capital city clubs.
- The first 2 English clubs I was at both have red in their home shirt.
- I played club football in 2 countries that have won the World Cup.
- In the last 10 years of my career, my birth country were in 2 World Cups.
- In one country, I was at 5 clubs.
- In a different country from that, I was at more than 2 clubs.
- I was at clubs beginning with the letters RST.

the 2 clubs I scored a goal per game ratio at, they begin with C and S.
- I was born in a place with a link to cars.
- 1 of my former teams shares a word with the surname of a Republic of Ireland former international (this could well be a giveaway...).
- My senior career only lasted 15 years.

Pretty sure only 24 African players have won the CL. Of them still playing in the PL there is, Keita, Matip, Mane, Salah. All are PL winners.

For Alex Ferguson to be listed it must be someone that has played for Man United, and apparently only 7 African players have done so:

- Zaha
- Djemba Djemba
- Manucho
- Diouf
- Bailly
- Fortune
- Igalho

Pretty sure none of those fit, so it must be bullshit.

This quiz requires two answers to each question. The first, for everyone, is to work out the nickname. The second is to identify the club the nickname is associated with. To help I have put in the division the club is in for the 20/21 season so P = Premier, C = Championship, 1 = League 1 and 2 = League 2.

1. Essential small pieces of kit for a cavalry man  (P)

2. These sometimes caused a battering at a castle  (C)

3. One for sorrow, two for joy, .....   (P)

4. Could be New, could be National  (C)

5. You might find one of these at Timpsons  (1)

6. Could not give their traditional birthday salute to the Queen last year  (P)

7. They catch these small crustaceans near the shore  (2)

8. Their female fans aren't unpleasant or ill tempered surely  (1)

9. Are their shorts not a tight fit then  (P)

10. Once the nickname for a postman as well  (C)

11. These crimson coloured guys are part of Satan's team  (P)

12. You don't want to meet this lot in the jungle  (1)

13. Watch out when they are above you at the seaside  (P)

14. Miners would want to hear them tweeting  (C)

15. (Southern) Spanish noblemen perhaps  (1)

16. These guys could do you a nice pint  (1)

17.  Sharp ones can give you a nasty cut  (P)

18. Didn't they sail to the America 400 years ago  (1)

19. Does this team have royal protection like their namesakes  (C)

20. These lads like to drive a John Deere rather than a Ferrari  (1)

21. These boxers aren't chickens are they?  (2)
