Doesn't matter whether it's a trot, a light jog, a medium paced jog or a sprint playing in a game is always more intense than training.

He would have been under no orders to not over do it, elite sport doesn't work like that and return from injury doesn't work like that either.

I presume it's common that players bare some psychological scarring after significant lengths of time out or when injuries are of a recurring nature.

He has a patella tendon on the opposite leg too ;)
So they took a part of the tendon from the 'good' leg to help repair the 'bad' knee, Welsh? How does that avoid scarring and damage to the tendon from which the graft is taken?

It doesn't but it reduces trauma to an already injured knee. They didn't do that with Ox though, I just know that the person who operated on him has sometimes done that.

I presume it's common that players bare some psychological scarring after significant lengths of time out or when injuries are of a recurring nature.

Yep. Psychological status is a huge factor in return to training and return to play

James Pearce says the club is reiterating that withdrawing Ox early yesterday was purely precautionary to prevent a setback and they will be arranging friendlies in the coming weeks to get him up to speed.

I just hope we don't rely on Ox the way we did with Lallana in the UCL final last year.
Talking about Lallana, I'd be very disappointed if we're still counting on him next season. He's contributed very little to goal creation for like 2 years. I think he provided one pass before an assist and that's the best he's done in all this time.

Lallana needs to go back to Southampton and ends his career there. I dont think playing him once every month will help hime in his career.

Ox is a really smart footballer so even (hopefully not) if he has lost some of his pace, he will still be a very good player.

Think I remember reading after the International break he would be available for first team selection. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench V Spurs or if not Southampton might be more likely.

I don't expect to see him back unless we are 3 or 4 up and he comes on for 20 minutes or so. He needs time to get back up to speed and it's such a pity that he has missed most of the season.

Anyone who watched his 40 mins against Debry U23 will know that he's unlikely to be involved against Spurs. Looked some way off and will need more game time at that level and training before being on the bench. I think Klopp meant 100% back from the hamstring issue he picked up and in training by the time the international break is over. My guess is we'll be way into April before we see him on the bench.

Silver lining is that at least it wasn't bumped because there was a setback in his recovery!  ;D

The good news with Ox is he can keep training and be ready for next year without missing time.  If he can get a couple of sub appearances before the end of the season, that will be a bonus.

With all the remaining games being high stakes, I guess Klopp wouldn't be taking any risk.

So it would be Hendo-Gini-Milner-Fab for the remaining of the games. Which is a shame because only the pace of Ox could break ranks.
