Jeremy Kyle and his "lie detector" tests.
« on: March 5, 2008, 10:30:31 am »
Does anyone else think these are just wrong?  It's been scientifically proven that these tests can be falsified and beaten so why does this awful, awful show place so much reliance on them?  I have watched people on this show completely devastated by results you can just tell they know to be false and their partners have accepted the conclusions of the test without question.  I've just watched a woman "test positive" for sleeping with men for money and her partner stormed off despite the look of utter shock on her face.  Okay. I know it's car-crash TV and anyone who goes on deserves pretty much what they get but surely this is treating the audience with total contempt?  How long before these tests ruin someone's life or lead to a suicide?

The only way that show could lead to a suicide is if I topped myself for listening to that twat for more than 2 minutes. :(

I personally dont think lie detecter tests are accurate.I mean loads of people suffer nervousness when under pressue so obviously when grilled about such pressing questions the devices are obviously gonna detect unease and say they're lying?

BUT

I dont sympathise with any attention seeking twat who goes on that shite to "solve" their crisis' and various family issues. Why the fuck do they go on tv to do it?

Hate how that twat Kyle thinks he's the big tough guy, giving some young greasy, toothless junkie a hard time, one day somebody'd going to give this c*nt a serious smack.

Can't stand most of the low life on this pathetic excuse of a show....but  Kyle annoys me more than they do.

I think we can all agree he is the twattiest person regularly appearing on TV but my point is specifically in relation to the reliance on that lowest of low vehicles, the lie detector.  He brandishes the results as though they are incontrovertible CCTV evidence of someone being caught red handed.  I've seen people faced with these results who, it is clear, do not have the foggiest idea how these conclusions were reached and they are nowhere near good enough actors to be faking that level of bemusement.  With all the justifiable criticism that has come this show's way, I think these tests are reason enough to have the show cancelled as I am pretty sure something very bad will come about as a result of them one day.

I don't like the way they leave the lie detector results like the X Factor results.  It's a child's life (or something along the lines of) and he goes "We asked you if you slept with Barry, you said, No.

you were lying!"
She keeps getting texts off him saying "Oh please take me back, I love you and I'm still not over you". We read them together naked and then we laugh about it. Then she blows me off.

Vile Kyle is a c*nt, I hate the way he bangs on at people about these tests being 96% accurate, if the lie detectors verdict was gospel the police would use them and make their jobs 100000000% easier and nobody would ever get away with lying.

But they arent, they are a load of shite if u ask me. As for Kyle, id love to get hold of him and put his head down the toilet after ive just had a shit. The little prick is so self righteous, I dont know what has given him the idea that hes anything at all anybody gives a fuck about. I cant wait til the day he gets caught doing something he shouldnt and I hope the media throw it back in his little rat like face!

I used to listen to Jezza's confessions on century and I found it quite interesting at first, then I realised it was the same every fucking night and this Jezza character was seriously getting on my wick with his holier than thou judgmental crap so stopped listening, and then he goes and gets his own show. How long before these tests ruin someone's life or lead to a suicide?

But surely that would be a public service? The only people I've seen on this show are scrotes and various lowlifes.
