This season Firmino generally gets subbed early, for the inferior Origi (no offence intended, obviously), when he's been playing constant football.

Spurs will at least be similarly affected, given Kane's minutes, but it doesn't mean liverpool fans shouldn't have an issue with Firmino being run into the ground in a meaningless friendly to make his federation some dirty dollars.
He's playing for his country, something he will absolutely want to do. That's something that seems to be overlooked by the people who always say "scrap international football" and "don't let our players play in it".

Players want to represent their country , we just have to accept and respect that. The problem is the travelling, especially for the likes of Mane, Salah and the Brazil boys.

Is it overlooked? I think most people know it comes down to players, doesn't mean that people aren't entitled to the opinion

If I’m not mistaken the following players will all remain at Melwood in this international break:

Salah, Mané, Shaqiri, Matip, Alisson, Lallana, Keita, Milner, Adrían

Is that right?

Good chance that the likes of Lallana, Milner and Shaqiri may get to play against Newcastle. Imagine Salah getting in another holiday as well.

There is but I believe most of the teams that played in AFCON have been given a rest.

Egypt, Senegal and Guinea definitely not involved.

Looked higher up than the ankle. If he can get out of international duty, and be ready for the games in the first week back, that'll be ideal. Think we could probably do with rotating him and Gini into Fabinho's spot, a little down the line in this run (especially now he's playing for Brazil).

This is absolutely laughable, I thought they might be playing qualifiers or something, but forcing their players who were already late to their club duties because of the Copa America to play two cash grab friendlies in the US is embarrassing.

It was a knee on the thigh, or that's what it looked like. A dead leg could be fine in a day, or could hang around for a good week or so.

Would be happy for us if he can't go with England, but of course I'm sure he's as proud as punch to play for England and he should definitely be first choice in that midfield.

It's a big part of why Brazilian players burn out so much. Neymar at 27 would have won his 100th cap had he played in the Copa America, the majority of them all cash grabbing friendlies.

This is precisely what Klopp has been moaning about. It is ridiculous to flog players who have just won them the Copa. Surely someone needs to call Brazil out for this. It really doesn’t matter if they rotate the players, the travelling and different time zones are all inconvenient for such meaningless games.

Currently 1,400 flights have been cancelled in/out of Florida due to Hurricane Dorian, with a further 4,000 flights in/out of the US delayed due to knock-on effects. Don't know if/how this would impact the travel plans of Bobby & Fab. Also, although Dorian may hit more further north than Miami and the match is only due to take place Friday, could this affect the game?
