It is mate and will give Loma his toughest test to date. One thing I find interesting though he signed the contract early but Lopez was holding out but for what?  ;D

Comfortable win for Frampton. He'll need to improve a fair bit if he wants to win a world title though. Plenty of rust.

Carl should just go for the money fights now. No need to slog it out against fighters who need to prove something.

I think he's fighting Jamal Herring for the WBO Super Featherweight title next.

Don't doubt something that's pretty much confirmed from Bob Arum mate.  ;D

He said if Carl came through this fight the next one is going to be against Herring in November/December time.

Don’t know what’s happened to Frampton since he beat Santa Cruz. Not looked the same fighter. Thought he was poor given the level of opponent tonight. Did I hear he didn’t make weight for it either, that’s not the first time if so. Not entirely convinced he really wants it anymore.

Confirmed lads, Lomochenko v Lopez.

How come they can make this a free to air fight but not Whyte Povetkin etc next week?

Dillian Whyte has been fighting on box office for a while now, Povetkin's not going to come over for an apple, an orange, a horse shit sandwich and the promise of being another Matchroom show in the future. You've also got Katie Taylor vs Persoon on the undercard which stole the show in New York last year.

But you have the P4P #1 currently not fighting on PPV for his next fight. Which is arguably his biggest and definitely most toughest fight.  ;D

I do get that during a normal year it would be PPV but as Samie points out above it’s more for me that you’ve got Lomachenko fighting in a massive fight on free to air plus the current situation in the world. It just doesn’t seem to be the right time for PPV events.

I agree it's not the time for PPV events but without a crowd it's the only way they can pay for it. I'd be surprised if it does more than 200,000 buys. They might also use the PPV to forecast the buy rate for Joshua-Pulev because there is no guarantee they'll be crowds again this year.

But you have the P4P #1 currently not fighting on PPV for his next fight. Which is arguably his biggest and definitely most toughest fight.  ;D

The US PPV model is different from the UK one, primarily because they pay a lot more in the States. Essentially they're paying £60-£75 and I don't know the strength of the undercard.  Here are Bob Arum's comments on the subject.

https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/29654068/teofimo-lopez-jr-fight-vasiliy-lomachenko-always-personal

"I think that sanity prevailed," Top Rank CEO and founder Bob Arum told ESPN. "I don't blame anybody here, if this was ordinary, normal times, the fighters would've got what they believed the fight was worth, more money.

"But again, we had to make them understand that I don't have a live gate, which was at least two, three million dollars. I couldn't do it on pay-per-view because I don't have an essential element -- the closed-circuit [showings], all the bars and places are closed. Who's going to buy it?"

Not heard that one mate i.e he fights Kell Brook. He and Errol Spence have been calling each other out for a while though. That's the probably the big fight of the Welterweight scene currently.

I know Kell Brook called him out last week but nothing more. That's a very bad fight for him, won't be any different to the Spence fight.

It will be a LOT worse IMO. Brook has hardly fought since then, and it was over three years ago. Bit of a step up from Mark De Luca to Crawford  ;D

Like Mayweather, Canelo clearly doesn't like those just chasing the money! Smith should be fighting other top level fighters now. He is just wasting away like Khan did chasing Mayweather.

Poor by Smith.

Povektin, Persoon, Taylor & Whyte all got exemptions from the government not to quarantine. I think they were all tested before coming into the UK and then tested again upon arrival to fight camp.

Have heard Dazn don't consider Yildrim a credible opponent for Canelo, so there's no guarantee that fight will happen.
