What's on Your Bucket List?
« on: March 18, 2015, 12:42:07 am »
I heard the term 'Bucket List' probably ten years ago, and while I find the idea appealing, I haven't had anything to stick on my own bucket list until today. (I do have a sex bucket list, or fucket list, but that's a different conversation).

But listening to a PodCast today, I simply must have bacon and eggs at The. Grove Cafe in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

What's on your bucket list? Are they even a thing?

Edit: The .Grove is an edit?

I have done lots of things that I had in my bucket list. Still there are a few that I would like to do.

Spend New Years Eve in Sidney
Do the Annapurna trek
Go to a Champions League Final (Liverpool playing of course)
Go to the arctic circle on midsummer.
Visit Antartica or at least the Falklands
Rent a motorcycle (it could be a bike or an electric bike, whatever is cheaper) for a month and ride it all around Italy, just for the food.
Walk the Camino de Santiago.
Go to New Zealand (including things related to LOTR)

I'd love to go to one of the poles, vast expanses of white, always thought it might be like being on another planet.

Also fancy the trans-Siberian express with a good book, ending up somewhere mad like Mongolia.

Got a thing for waterfalls as well. Seen Niagara and Victoria. Need to see Angel and Iguazu.

Oh, and Yellowstone NP, I'll make it there one day.

Sorry, i haven't got any like eating such n such in some restaurant or staying at a particular famous hotel. Stuff like that has never really grabbed me. But natural wonders or interesting wildlife...could easily fill a bucket or two with places like that. My best ever holiday was hiking and camping in the Okavango Delta. Don't generally have the urge to go back to places, but I'd make an exception for there. That's one that i wouldn't tick off the list no matter how many times i went back.

See gorillas in the wild in East Africa

Would absolutely love to do this (and cack myself at the same time no doubt)!

See a rugby World Cup match live (will happen this year)
See Liverpool win the league - in the stadium

Doing the first this year too and can thankfully claim to have done the latter!

Great list though. I think most of mine mind revolve around nature actually. I've been lucky enough to do one safari, would love to do another one at some point in my life.

Deffo need to get down (phnarr) to jotting some things down onto this list. ;D

My bucket list is never ending. Each time I tick one thing off, there's another to add on.

Take my little dude (nephew) to his first football game at Anfield
Teach my other little dudes (nieces) to take no shit from anyone, and to refuse to conform to the gender stereotypes that society forces on them 8) (WHAT?)
Go to North Korea
Sand surf on the dunes in the Namib desert
See gorillas in the wild in East Africa
Climb Kilimanjaro
Run Complete a marathon
Take the Trans-Sib from St Petersburg to Beijing
Trek in Torres del Paine in Chile
Get to Easter Island and do a mad dance with the stone heads
Take a tour of Chernobyl
Sample some of Columbia's finest, in Columbia (coffee, obvs ;))
Try opiates... just once...
Have a proper banh mi in Vietnam
See the Northern Lights
Kayak off Prince William Sound
See Old Faithful in Yellowstone (plus the rest of Yellowstone!)
Spend some time in India - Golden Triangle, etc
See a football World Cup match live
See a rugby World Cup match live (will happen this year)
See Liverpool win the league - in the stadium
See Liverpool win the Europa league - in the stadium
Go to Disney World, Florida
Climb that big mad pyramid in Guatemala (I think)
See the pyramids in Egypt - inc. visiting Luxor and Abu Simbel
Go to China and trek the Great Wall for a week & see the Terracotta Warriors
Party at Pride in San Francisco
See the Commonwealth Games live
Find a quiet spot to meditate at Borobudur in Indonesia
See Wales compete in a major football tournament... just for giggles
Camp in Monument Valley and watch the sun rise over the Wild West landscape
Take photos at "The Wave"
Go to Eurovision ;D
Kayak in Lake Powell
See "the Big 5" on safari
Trek in the Atlas mountains and eat the best hummus Morocco has to offer
Do a bungee jump
Visit every continent
Change the world for the better... no matter in how small a way

So yeah. Erm. Better get going, hadn't I?
