Gordon as false nine is absurd. His best qualities are running into open space ahead of him and diving. He has very poor stats in basically every other facet of play. McNeil is even less productive as a winger and Gray is inconsistent at best. Lampard is probably hoping Mings has a mare in defense today otherwise Everton will struggle to do much.

Everton could go the whole season without scoring a goal. They have to find a striker from somewhere.

Well, given Everton will just be lumping balls forward and have no real ball players in central midfield then it won't really be a false nine.  :P

There is no reason why that Villa side should lose today. It's not great but the Everton side is terrible. They might set up not to concede many goals this season but they're going to score very few you'd feel. Doucoure and Alexander Iwobi in central midfield  ;D

If they played Rondon up front they'd be Burnley.

City will fill their cheating boots today...c*nts making a mockery of the game and the authorities are blatantly letting them get away with it. The rest of the prem will gladly cheer them on as it thwarts our chances of a Title.

Fuck the lot of them.

Bit hyperbolic I know but the very worst Sunderland sides that got summarily booted from the league in last back in '03 and '06 scored 21 and 26 goals respectively. Burnley-ism will always get you some goals from time to time. The real key for Everton is how leaky the defence will be.

No offence to Gerrard, hopefully he's long gone by then but wouldn't mind this being a Championship clash next season.

i honestly fear for Stevie, i really don't like the tactical formation he's setting up, think it might be enough for this Everton side (who look worse), but Coutinho feels completely isolated from the game and the 2 striker formation seems so unfitting for todays game.

Nothing from the comms there after Gordon blatantly cheats and tries to con the ref by pretending he got hit in the face. Shit like that needs retrospective punishment and players missing games because of it. He’d have outpaced Mings there if he didn’t dive.

Imagine if that was a diving foreigner eh.

Biggest diving shithouse in the league and not a single word spoken about it. Shit c*nt only skill is kicking it forward fast and falling to the ground.
