I saw the footage of this on a fire marshall course last year, apparently the company that own the footage dont let anyone show it apart from for fire training purposes. It was used to show how people react when they see fire, some truely horrific images, the club actually used to routinely padlock the gates shut to stop people bunking in after the start and when they investigated the debris under the stand that caught fire they found programmes over 30 years old.

Interesting account of this in Phil Scraton's The Truth

Really sad that it was another tragedy that could have been prevented

Was an awful day and a terrible trajedy. Never realised there were so many older people who perished and people from the same families. Quite shocking.

Thinking of those that died and their families this evening.

I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

I remember it well, still recall switching on Grandstand when I was a kid to get the results and seeing the stand up in flames.

I worked in Bradford for a year or so a while back - decent bunch of people up there. RIP

32 years ago today, 56 people lost their lives in a tragic fire at Valley Parade.

RIP.
