Looks like a Skrtel in form, very calm and confident. His running and style is similar. He even likes to drop low like Skrtel.

Thought he did decently well - would like to see him for their first and their 3rd again. Anyone done this? Felt he vacated his space too easily for the first and got dragged across instead of stepping up; could be wrong?

Thought he had a very good game.

Looks a great signing for the money we've paid and given he's come here as a bit of an unknown outside of the countries he's played in.

He played Walcott onside by running 10 yards deeper than the rest of his defence. Skrtel would have got slaughtered for that and rightfully so.

Solid for the most part but let's not pretend he is the new Sami.

He was tracking a runner, he did exactly the right thing, wasn't his fault no one was on the left, he can only do his job. Not really like the ones Skrtel is involved in where play is on the halfway line and he's mile behind for no reason.

Tracking a runner 10 yards deeper than the rest of the defensive line? No. Sorry, but it's poor. All he had to do was stop and the lad runs miles offside. Why is he tracking him? What benefit is there? Just stop and he's miles offside as would Walcott have been.

No there wasn't. I'm watching it right now. Paused it at the point of pass. Walcott is 5 yards behind everyone except Klavan. Klavan runs back and plays 3 of them onside.

Finally someone who realises that sometimes we don't need to pass and the ball needs to get gone.

For me he takes most of the blame for their 1st and 3rd goal but that had a lot to do with him learning about his teammates and their habits. His composure and calmness will be major assets for us this season.

How I see it too although maybe a bit harshbon free kick as that was a brilliant cross. The first goal though is no doubt on him. It was absolutely shocking. If it was Skrtel and not a new signing people would be slaughtering him.

I think his general play was really good however so that's encouraging. The dropping behind the line can be solved in training.

I think he expected that Moreno was right behind him, had he knew it wasn`t so the best solution was to hold the line and try to block the passing lane to Walcott as Ramsey would have been offside if Iwobi still wanted to try that option.

There is something wrong with it. Proven by the fact he played a lad onside to score who would have ultimately been a mile off if he just held the line.

As I said. His general performance was quite good I thought, but he made a mistake for the first goal.

Yes there is something wrong with it......... like playing someone onside which leads to a goal. That don't distract from the fact that he had a good game, but he still made a mistake simple as that.
