One of the most promising players Newcastle have produced in quite some time. Really came good last season (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_kanJ5Qqac) and has been rewarded with the No.9 shirt. The feeling up here from a few fans is that he won't cut it in the premiership, something I don't agree with. His game is based on strength and ariel ability, so in theory it doesnt matter what league he is in, he's alot taller than most defenders be it Championship or Premiership. Plus he looks like a fucking rockstar with that hair! As long as he can cool it down off the pitch I can see him having a great future as a top class striker. What do you RAWKites reckon? Good striker or flash in the pan?

I'm a massive fan of his after he twatted Steven Taylor in the face.

In all honesty, Carroll is a nice little player and I could see him having success comparable to a Kevin Doyle potentially; both are strong in the air, not the most glamorous, but both are solid players.

I think New castle will do OK this season as long as the fan majority grow up and expect to get a hiding every now and then.

If they can avoid calling for Shearer, Keegan or some other fanciful Geordie angel I think they will finish above the drop zone.

Defo. He's their best striker. He'll play almost every game this season unless he gets locked up.

Always thought he was one of Newcastle's more positive players. Very direct, likes to take on defenders and looked good on the ball. Unfortunately it doesn't help when you've got a load of shit players around you. Needs to move to another club to get the most out of his potential and a better manager to guide him through his career.

Fucking beast! Thought he was excellent today, goals aside. His movement was top notch and he almost always picked out the right pass. Three well taken goals as well, probably the best performance I've seen at St.James', rivalling Gerrard's from 08/09.

Why would you want them to go down? I can easily find 3 detestable teams whom I want to go down (QPR and Villa for starters).

I shouldn't be bringing transfer stuff but if you are worried that Hammers will keep him at a predetermined low price then rest easy; coz by all accounts that can't be the case.
