Why stop the game for a player who is getting treatment off the pitch?

Personally hope I’m wrong but for the rest of the league I see them dropping 7 points

Thats great because that will mean they need us top drop 11. We wont drop that many.

Take the blinkers off, lads. It was a dangerous challenge and deserved a red.

Agree.

Some people seriously think that was a red?
Clear red. Same as Kompany’s. Just no consistency in the decisions

The consistency angle is reasonable but it's not the same referee. All the Premier League referees bar Oliver are shit but they don't think the same so it's obvious not every decision will be the same. If Pawson had done our game with them I'd understand it

He had more of a clean hit on Salah, with less chance to get the ball...

The kompany one was a red too. It was a bad decision. Doesn't mean you want more bad decisions. Next season, with var, both are reds.

It's not.

VAR is for a clear and obvious error. Was the Kompany case clear and obvious? Probably not.

The point should be though a Manchester referee should not be refereeing a game involving clubs from his own area. Even now, I can't believe they gave it to him of all people.

Deliberate foul to stop a counter and then another player boots the ball away. No cards for either. This from the manager on record instructing his players to deliberately foul.

Excellent officiating

Wouldn't argue with that, in fact I'd agree with it. Think it's unfair on Taylor having to referee a team from Manchester. Even if there's no inate bias he's going to face scepticism.

Aye, but Kompany's was a more clear red. It wasn't even debatable, high over the top tackle. The pundits did their best to justify that decision. This red is more contentious, I'll wait to see do they say it should have been a yellow like Kompany. Over to you Carragher...

I'm probably blinkered but Kompany's tackle on Salah was much worse.

Kompany was running at full speed and jumped into a tackle in such a way he was certain to hit Salah.  The only defence of the challenge was that he won the ball but that was only because he spread his legs so wide in the lunge.

Boly was arguably a red but the tackle was more like Van Dijk's against Napoli that Kompany's.  He won the ball cleanly first but the follow through was raised enough to arguably merit the card.

I thought at the time with Kompany that it was only because the ref was somewhat blindsided to how high Kompany's second leg was that he only showed a yellow.  Pawson seemed to get some indication from his assistant before showing the red.

Missed the red, was it a correct decision? Worse than Kompanys as you know they'll all be screaming this was 100% a red despite being convinced his wasn't

Didn’t expect them to drop points tonight but Wolves lost their heads for 2 moments and the game is pretty much gone.

The Huddersfield game is a belated Christmas present but I can see them dropping points at Newcastle away as they are in the bottom 3 now.
